I’m telling you mine did the same thing. Happened when pedaling. Happened when rocking the bike back and forth the the brakes locked. Sounded like it came from the wheel, I greased the thru axle, then it sounded like the seat clamp, greased that, etc etc.
Im my experience the best way to ID...
I had a "click" when pedaling on my first ride. The lower bolt and hardware where the shock mounts to the arm needed a healthy coat of grease.
Glad it wasn't the Turbines. I have a front and about to put on the rear this weekend.
I think all these brakes from shimano being equivalent is a meme. Each model works in 95% of conditions. It’s the 5% that makes things go sideways. Pads, hose rigidity and diameter, can it accept finned pads, resin pads, metallic pads, ceramic pads, which rotors are you using, rotor diameter, is...
It's definitely a bug to discharge within hours of topping off. A $10 grounded plug timer solves the issue - 1 hour per bar needed + 1 hour = full charge every time.
I would have bought the plug timer anyway since the charger's LED is always-on when plugged in, and I dont want a charger...
My baseless estimates going from the stock 2 piston Deore > 4 piston M5x0s > XT 4 piston 8120:
Essentially no change between the Deore 2 piston and 4 piston M5x0 with resin pads, 180 rotors.
~10-15% more braking power from the M5x0s to the XTs w/finned pads and 180 rotors mostly due to the...
Replaced with a $250-450 hub, on relatively cheap hoops like the ARCs makes no sense. If you're going that route you might as well get a custom wheel set built or buy the RF Turbines with Vault hubs. You will very likely be just fine with the Shimano hub. I've seen complaints with the newer...
It’s a good hub. I have a similar deore hub on my commuter ebike with 7200 miles and not a single issue. The version Orbea uses has been flawless on my H15.
I’d still move forward with the warranty claim.
That does look a bit like the Shimano deore. But someone else posted this no name hub on here and one difference besides having no branding was a silver micro spline receiver (the Shimano is black I believe), and they reported the weight being ~200 g less than the same wheel with the Shimano...
Should be good, and the price is worth the inconvenience if things go south. Though, I would definitely not feel comfortable buying a $7-10k ebike without local support.
I had a bosch motor on my commuter fail before covid, and the shop I ordered it from had no clue nor the software to read...
yeah, honestly have no idea what the “c” after the 30 means. For what it’s worth I was able to weigh my front stock wheel (I replaced it with a RF Turbine). It’s 1026g with tape.
The weight of the AR 30 wheels is published at 2000g on Race Face's website, albeit with RF hubs instead of the Shimano that came with my H15 wheel set. I'd be surprised if the Shimano hubs added 300 g. But could be possible. I never weighed mine. Still it seams like you shaved 0.5 lb from...
I'll add from an LBS who can repair and diagnose issues with your motor brand. I bought a Cannondale commuter ebike from a Cannondale dealer in name, but not in practice. When the Bosch motor kicked the bucket at 6k miles, they had no clue how to work with Bosch. Had to take it to 3 shops to...
It’s not going to be transformative but I do think higher bars are more comfortable on the flats and descents. Guessing the 140mm fork puts you in a slightly lower position out of the box vs the H15. So maybe an even better reason to get some 35 mm rise bars. All up to your preferences.
The rekon does have its limits. But it seems predictable and is fast. I think toward the end of summer I'll go assegai front and back for a late season downieville weekend and to prepare for the fall/winter.
Congrats, glad you finally pulled the trigger. Might be in the minority here, but I actually like the stock tire setup on dry terrain. Give them a go for a few rides. Was expecting some issues from all the down hype, but they've been stellar on NorCal trails. In fact realized how much...
