It's a friendly forum don't take that as typical. I've had so much great advice and help here, people have even messaged me with photos of bikes at times to help when fixing things.
I'd say 50 is middle aged. The median age in Australia is 38.3 years old now and 40 in some states. You can't...
I'm finding it hard in Australia to source a new front chainring.
The Giant shop's sold out.
It's a Praxis Works Steel eMTB Chainring 36t 104BCD 4-Arm 10 11 12 Speed Fit Shimano.
Would a Narrow/wide version work?
I think the switch is good actually: it's really low profile to the point that it's not noticeable and yet has two ridges on each +/- switch that can easily be felt through gloves. One idea for those who dislike it might be to rotate it so that your thumb hits it at a different angle?
Ok well I'm stuck still, the wheel is rock-solid set in place snugly and has been very rideable. Does yours have such a large spacer as this one in the picture please @Rubinstein ? All I can think of is something was changed when the shop swapped the cassette over. Thank you!
You might be better off staying in Australia and moving to country Victoria in reach of incredible MTB areas like MT Buller, Falls Creek, Buxton, Lake Mountain, Bright etc. The country areas are cheap: even in a mid-sized town like Alexandra you can get a 3 bedroom detached house on 1100 square...
Luckily I was fine when the wheel came undone and just noticed the gears going wonky. It's had a replacement cassette (SLX same as new) and derailleur since new. These all work fine.
If anyone has a 2021 Trance E+ perhaps they can please let me know if this is as far as the rear axle will do...
Water destroys ebikes, everyone knows it. Hoses are out, clean with a cloth and automotive products. Don't ride in rain or in wet slop. They are weakly sealed electric motors. There's whole Reddits about Teslas breaking in rain.
Thanks, that's just the name of the tool I was looking for the lock ring.
I can't get the crank off though: the chainring side allen bolt rotated a little with a lot of resistance but nothing is undoing.
I could only find one video that's a bit like the Praxis cranks on the Giant at HERE but...
The lock nut has come loose and I can't figure out how to remove the crank arm so as to get to the bolt to tighten it. I can bang it a bit tight with a screwdriver but this isn't optimal, clearly!
1) Do I have to undo the crank arm from the other side and pull the whole thing out?
2) Does...
I won a Tactic and gave it away because it was chunky, the straps were oddly uncomfortable, it felt clumsy and heavy and the sunvisor was too high up to do anything at all.
Same issue in Australia with razor plants. I use Fox Enduro kneepads with Shadow Conspiracy BMX shinguards. If it's very hot, I have older-style soccer/hocky shin guards that are open at the back, but they are hard to buy now. They are in 2nd hand shops or any school or club will have a stack.
A warranty should be voided if the buyer has wrecked the bike with bodgy 'fixes', but NO WAY is a stealth nerf acceptable. This just confirms the concept of never doing an update to the firmware.
I very much dislike having to set up accounts the same as everyone else. I almost never use the Giant app, but it is needed for things like changing the motor settings etc. if you want to do that.
As far as riders who have derestricted bikes, that does void the warranty. If it didn't, the...
I kept my manual bike for two years but was just never using it. I bought a second eMTB so have a spare one now in case and sold the manual to help do that. Have made the right decision, for me.
