You do need a specific tool for the chainring.
However, you can install the kit without removing it. It’s just a tiny bit harder at this spot.
I removed the ring for the kit AND a little side project, so no need to worry if you just want to install your kit ?
Well... To be honest, I was thinking that I would be able to change the mode with my phone app, or with a garmin GPS/watch.
Needless to say that when I find out it's not possible, I wasn't impressed.
After I lot of sweat, I got rid of the handlebar command for the motor, and put the wireless controller all the way back.
I might have to improve it, but I love the clean cockpit.
Might as well go full dangerholm with the zirbel bike controllers ?
