To share my tale,
I chased a creak for a great many months, finally finding when I lost my back end.
My chain stay had cracked behind the chain guard, entirely invisible with chain guard in place though, once broke through it was easily evident
I just received and used the Bearing Pro tools
I’d say it worked well, albeit, I either ordered the wrong kit or they sent the wrong kit
The double bearing on the seat stay ( gen 2 Levo) requires a bearing puller, I bought the sliding hammer type and never encountered too much drama.
The same...
Once the chain protector was removed, it’s even more impressive, clean cut that one would struggle to do blindfolded with a saw
No dings, little by way of paint damage,
Fortunately, bikes back together awaiting its maiden voyage with a second hand chainstay whilst the frame warranty outcome is...
In fairness, they’re not a bad job……..
The seat stay takes a bit of frustration with equal relieve once done
Whilst I’d say none were particularly bad, I now have piece of mind they’re done
Onto the real cause of my creaking and waiting for a replacement chain stay for the rebuild
Full respect to Berkshire Bikes
Had a slight Oopsie on my Levo creaking, cracking, split chainstay……..
After much strip down, clean & greasing, sending the shock off for service, changing wheel, left with Frame bearing thoughts, I had a final furrow and adventure, on return I set about changing...
All interesting reading…….
I had a creaking develop and for the life of me, could have sworn it was any number of things and opted to replace frame bearings, ( premature shock service Dahm!)
whilst waiting on parts, I was out today and brain farted - dry link in chain so once home, set about...
Well I’ve amassed the parts & tools
I had a bearing press
I’ve purchased a
Specialized Horst Pivot Bearing Tool (Kenevo, Levo, Stumpjumper 2021/2022/2023 onwards) × 1
though unsure if needed, but don’t want to be stuck half way through - £16.50
Bearing set from Trail vision (12 Bearings)...
Many thanks
That was useful…..
moreso as issues encountered and overcame, well done & thanks
I’ve a bearing press, so guess I’ll buy a blind puller, set of bearings and set aside some time
Thanks again
I use the set up on sons bike (11 Speed)
This was used to keep spare parts to minimum
Note - I have 12 speed xt on Levo
My sons bike, is not an EMTb, he runs single chain ring, 11 Speed cassette & shifter with 12 Speed chain & rear mech
Bit of a faff setting the limits but no issue shifting...
I’ll support the claim - Powers definitely tuned down!
After my last motor change I noticed, notable difference in power, took a scroll through and noted the wheel size had not been changed, I run a 27.5” rear on a gen 2.
So rather than a round trip I put the 29er back on
Same feeling of...
I went to tredz uk and purchased
Noting there was an aluminium and steal version, from discussion with Tredz they had the steal drivers and I’ve had one year use so far
