The way many industries operate is relevant to many others. If you look at my first post it was merely about time periods for certain fixes, I made no mention of buying online or at some distant shop.

I'd say that if you can a new bike, the model you want at the time you want it, the current climate may well mean you get a very good price for your 1yr old second hand bike that may have passed you buy in...
What you may find is that spraying such a light lube as GT85 will make it worse long term as it is likely to 'wash' any grease away, leaving the bearing/headset area prone to water ingress and rust etc
