I have used a couple of iterations of this WTB saddle for about 25 years. Before that I used to use a flite Ti saddle until I read a review of the WTB saddle. Tried a few others, but for me the WTB is the benchmark for comfort.
Maybe because I am old, I just hate getting a wet a**e, so I use the following combination.
The Scicon-mtb guard that stops everything getting over/near the motor etc is permanently fitted to my S Works Gen 3 Levo ( & my wifes, as well). It works , as several have said, so don't try and...
A few light years ago, my first Hope disc brakes were minis . They totally fried on any serious downhill.
But, Hope did recommend using a small dab of silicon ( which was supplied in a small tub with the Hope service kit) to ensure their phenolic pistons moved in and out smoothly. Over the 5/6...
I have taken my Levo to the Alps w/o battery on a number of occasions ( leave battery out there) on a plane using BA.
BA have a specialist dept that can tell you about what you can & cannot take. I normally carry a few emergency gas tyre inflation canisters with me. They are supposed to be...
Thank Ou812, it fitted easily, even though I had to do a double take on one of the seals ( the single seal on the frame end of wishbone) as it is seemed counter intuitive that it didn't sit on the bearings like the other two ( outermost on link) sets of bearings seals... But, luckily, I had only...
I would like to add to this request for advice.
I also have a cascade link for a MY 22 Gen 3 Levo to take the standard rear shock travel to 160mm from 150mm.
I have not yet fitted it because i read some concerning comments here about the cascade link when fitted to a longer shock.
Can...
Interesting.
This came up last winter when we were about to drive home from Lakes with bikes on back of car (Thule tow-ball rack).
Anyone who says the bikes don't get a soaking has never driven far in wet uk conditions.
Both bikes were clean prior to setting off , but filthy and covered in...
I would check out the new Shimano LinkGlide.
They dont go bigger than 11 speed ( plus 9 &10) which is plenty enough for me. Apparently the large cassette rings have much deeper cut ( ie bigger) teeth only made with steel. They dont use the new microspline either.
Even with my 2022 S Works...
Well there is no congruity here as to which size.
I am also 178. But, I happily ride an S3- perfect size for me.
I have short legs ( 30" inner & shrinking).
Upper body forward stretch would be my decider. ie how far to reach bars whilst seated normally. I wouln't want to be too...
I’m 73 with two total knee replacements.
if mountain biking, we use spesh Levos ( full fat version ) - outstanding bikes that do the job. Had so many days of brilliant fun all over UK (& Alps) riding things that have not been possible for 10+ years
if road biking on flattish terrain, still...
we use a Thule XT rack to carry two Spesh Carbon Levos.
Thule make a specific adjustable bar designed to be fitted between seatpost and headtube, to avoid clamping around carbon frames. Costs abt £25 on Amazon. Then also fit 2 pairs of thule long straps and everything is easy peasy - plus no...
I ride an S3 and am 5’ 9 .
My wife is 5’ 4.5 and tried both my bike and also an S2 before ordering her new bike, following a theft. She felt too stretched-out on the S3, and slightly restricted on the stock S2.
LBS (not local at all, 300 miles away but offering us superb service for 30 years)...
I put invisiframe on both our Gen 2 Comp Carbon Levos and after 3 years decent use they still looked excellent.
Done the same with our replacement Gen 3 Levos ( also bare carbon). Looks fantastic, works really well.
No hesitation to recommend, but get it done by a professional or you may...
I am not sure this post adds anything new, but…
For me, its Shimano every time, despite their non parts replacement policy.
Smoother shifting, very easy adjustment, easy to fettle/fix/replace plus good parts availability.
Finally, I prefer to run 11 speed as I still think thats quite enough...
We have scicom guards on both our Gen3 bikes. Works really well keeping suspension/ bearings clean. In winter or wet, I fit the SKS rear mudguard over the scicom (adjustable angle built-in, easy to fit/ remove with velcro & zip ties). Keeps the bum largely clean & dry. But, I am an old fart…..
I have a 2022 S Works Levo ie Gen3. I asked for it to be built-up using a Chris King headset. The CK headset fits ( and works perfectly) but it does not offer the range of head angles that are possible with the stock headset. ie +1 and -1 as stated above.
If, like me, you just want to ride and...
Little consolation to most of you on here, but when I specced my new 2022 levo, I deliberately chose to stick to Shimano 11 speed. Use XT cassettes and the previously mentioned Shimano CN-E8000 e-bike 11 speed chain. Good life and great shifting.
Sometimes less is more.
Another vote for lowering saddle and NOT using turbo mode ( which if loose underfoot/wheel then rear wheel will lose traction), raise saddle as soon as you have regained momentum and are heading uphill. Also agree you need to keep your weight forward on handlebars if its really steep to stop...
