Good news and bad news.
Despite my fear that the police would not do too much, I was wrong. My wife emailed the neighbourhood Inspector and she passed it on to some of her team. Net result on Wenesday, when the bike started being moved around, we contacted them and four South Yorks Constabulary...
Yes, already checked. Checked with all the neighbours. Two saw a couple of " 30 years old males with grey hoodies" checking out the bike... ( why didnt they even ask what they were doing?). Then they went, but seem to have came back later, all done in just a very few minutes.
There is just...
Yesterday my wife got a 1'" stone jammed between her rear tyre & sicom frame guard and her bike stopped dead. She was s thrown off and bashed her head and shoulder ( she's only 70 in two days) ! It hurt her today and so when we met a friend for a days riding, she decided to get it checked out at...
Another endorsement for this approach. Over last forty + years of riding had both “ golf “ &” tennis “ elbows. Non intervention recovery was slow & frustrating, so saw a Doc in Belgium( was working there at time) and he injected the tendon with steroids. After 2/3 repeats and a month of...
On my S works Gen 3, I run SC Reserve rims built on CK hubs with Shimano 1*11 (XT shifter, chain & derailleur) but std chainring.
Shifts perfectly.
Great wheels built to last.
Well thanks to all of you who have responded in such a positive way and I accept the moderators comments.
This thread was started in a somewhat lighthearted way to see what kind of response it would generate after I had read a couple of grizzly posts by some guy telling somebody else (...
I fully echo and endorse Bravestarr's comments.
Do to others as you would wish to have done to you... Its the same in life generally, treat people with the respect they deserve and they will respect you, too.
fali, if you could repeat your post in French, Italian or possibly even German, I might be able to understand the ( undoubtedly) important point you are making?
Don't you love such spelling ( I did say I was an old fart) "fell-off" or of course, he could have fallen orf his bike -if you are frightfully posh?
Sure he will be back and mobile again, shortly
Maybe I am mistaken, but have seen some really aggressive posts recently. Good natured p**s taking is fine too and banter even better.. Maybe its the loss of use of articulate language that drives it??
You are right, Mr ZF take pretty much everything thrown at him with good humour and grace...
My handle gives it all away. I am an old fart ie over 70, but I find it strange and at a times disturbing that its not that unusual to find some quite aggressive posts in reply to someones question and somebody elses answer. I started riding MTBs in 1984 when I brought back a Gary Fisher from...
My LBS confirms it will work and they have got the parts required to enable a Gen 2 battery fit Gen 3.
Seems the battery cells are same to both versions, with different adaptors.
Only a few weeks more until I can collect the new bike and try it.
The battery adapter parts were more readily...
I bought my first mtb in 1984 in San Francisco and brought it back- a Gary Fisher, no suspension ( front or rear), no brakes to speak of ( ever heard of a suntour roller cam rim brake?), but lots of gears(3*8 or 9?). You get the picture, but FUN !
Over the years, I ” progressed” via Klein...
When I build up my new Gen 3 Levo, I will again be using an 11 speed ( Shimano). I had some new bits left over from my previous Gen 2, plus I found 11 speed perfectly adequate for use in Lake District, Peaks, N Yorks, Scotland and the Alps ie plenty hills, some really quite steep.
Main...
Ordered an S-Works S3 frame in September 2020, delivery was initially due May '21, now deferred to September '21. No negative news so far, but not got it either , yet....
Its my understanding that both the 500w and 700w batteries are interchangeable and useable with the new gen 3 bikes- but you would need to change the cover to the new version, so I cannot see why a 500W battery would not work? My LBS told me they will swap, so I am planning to try this when my...
