@ktown did you figure out the issue on your bike? I have a similar sound coming out from the shock upper bolt and for the life of me I can't get rid of it.
there are two aspects you need to consider when pondering which bike is best for you - playfulness and assistance.
The SL is way better in agility and overall feel. You can move the bike so much better, but compared to the full levo the assistance difference is significant.
I have both, andif...
Got my bike back. First two rides and the motor feels normal, but twice I got the red and blue blinking lights. Restarting brought it back to normal, but after weeks without a bike I’m almost dreading go ride it and have it breaking down on me again.
The info I got from my lbs was that they send the motors to specialized, they are checked and serviced and only then they come back. This is not consistent with what other said here, so I don’t know what to think anymore.
The guys at the lbs are also pretty desperate with the increasing amount...
Going to third week without a bike, and Specialized provides no info about when can I get a new motor. Bought two Levos from Spesh this year, been riding bikes from them for more than 20 years. This really stinks and makes me wonder about my loyalty to the brand.
@Specialized Rider Care I live...
It is supposed to prevent your bike from breaking down, so that should answer it. With that said, it didn’t for my bike, and others here too, so it’s unclear how effective it is. The cautious thing to do is to get it updated.
Oh I wouldn’t trust leaving my bike on the rack no matter what. Even the lock on the handle that fixes the entire rack to your car can so easily be forced.
I had the same thing happening to me. I love this rack, and would buy it again, but you do need to have a safety measure because the clamps ar too small to go around a frame (I actually clamp mine on the suspension pivots) and they can get loose on a bumpy road. I’ve destroyed my levo SL...
Just ride it, enjoy the bike, but make sure that you have a fallback plan. Mine went out without a notice, in a middle of a ride. Luckily I wasn’t riding alone as I usually do so I could use the other bike to get back the car.
Did you read what I’ve written? I do think they did the right thing by owning it and provide additional warranty for existing customers. Where things fall apart is when you see that the fix they’ve announced is turning out not to be effective, and new customers are getting the same issues...
Those getting motors from previous years should be getting units that already have the updated parts in. Still quite unsettling, but hopefully you won’t run into the issues described here.
What a clusterf*** this is turning to be. Specialized did the right thing, and should be praised for that, but it is starting to look like that the fix was no fix, so that leaves everyone with a Levo in a pretty interesting situation.
For me it has started with subtle clicks, easily confused with something stuck in the drivetrain, followed by loud clacks, power loss, and finally the high pitch whining noise and no power output. Right after this, red a blue lens, and when turned off if you push the bike backwards, you feel...
