Just browsing the Merida site and The 2021 e160 8000, ep8, carbon frame with a nice build spec is listed at $8999 aud. Seems like a more realistic price point.
It’s a hard decision. The essential for $10k aussie or $12k for the signature which has the spec I would likely end up with down the track anyway.... in for a penny in for a pound may be the best way to approach this ?

Yep, I agree. I was looking at the 2020 team 29 but the new motor and battery would be too good to pass up for not much more money. Keep me posted and once they are released if everyone is keen on one we can put the question to them. Don’t ask you don’t get.

Thanks bluewater87, just what I needed to hear! It’s a little stressful ordering here and not being able to even sit on a bike let alone ride it. You don’t want to piss off the shops but you also need to make the right choice and it’s hard when they never have a bike to try or even sit on.
Hi Ivan, I was told $10k for a 2021 rail 9 by my lbs. I’m close to throwing down the deposit but before I do I will ask about the 9.8 carbon with XT spec, if it’s available here in Aus and the price etc. He had to look up availability and specs, I’m guessing on his dealer portal, not sure why...
