You can get Cube frames from here HYBRID | SchlierseerBikeparts | Hausham
I built up a gen 2 Bosch, shipping wasnt too bad to Australia. I plan on doing a swap of its parts to a gen 4 or smart system next year and getting another frame from them.
Mmm perhaps I should put my bikes in the dining room and the dining table in the garage, would lessen visits from annoying relatives😁. Well done sir, what a room🙂
Has your Kiox fallen out of it’s holder recently, if it has check around the back edges at the bottom to see if any metal is missing. Mine was doing the same as yours turning off without warning with sketchy assistance and clonk. It had cracked some metal off and wasn’t lining up with the...
Doesn’t take much to dislodge it, the pin moves easily. I have a Cube with the same mechanism my bike fell over in the garage onto rubber matting and it moved. Thankfully that was a quick fix, wasn’t happy when I found the Kiox had cracked some metal off the bottom and wasn’t sitting in the...
It is possible for the liner to bond to the tyre, I had that happen with the front wheel of my GT Sanction years ago. It’s a small frame so the bike had probably sat in a hot warehouse for ages was the only small frame bike around at the time and was going cheap so I grabbed it. It came with...
Hi Bram I’m from your neck of the woods, I get the heart stuff too. I had to get an EMTB after having 3 SCADs (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) they weren’t to do with the vaccine the inside of my heart arteries just decide to come away and cause heart attacks. It sucked as I didn’t have...
I had an altercation with someone at a train station a couple of weeks ago, I kept my bike the guy has been charged and was taken into custody. I don’t live in London and it’s not common for this to happen one on one where I live, bike thieves usually go after bikes in the so called locked bike...
That one is 6.1kg (13.44 lbs) you really don’t want to carry that much weight in a solid block on your back ie high centre of gravity. It would be an absolute disaster if you crash you’d be looking at severe spinal damage.
If you definitely want to go this way lighter is better, what sort of...
The only ready made ones I know of from a company are from Paradox Kinetics, their system uses one. Not sure if they sell the battery by itself however, the stock battery is about 3kg without the backpack. They were able to make a smaller one when I enquired that was a couple of years ago though.
I’ve done it, it’s a pain in the arse. The coloured car vinyl rips easy when you crash too, it’s not as thick as the clear stuff so you will need to put that on as well. I will be going back to painting for next frame too much faffing around with vinyl.
Great idea, would give a longer life to these bikes once the motors are no longer supported. Inbuilt storage space for a bit of bike packing or sly trip to the bottle shop?
27.5 for me, I’m short and light found 29 way too big I don’t know how people under 5”4 ride them. Would still quite happily ride 26 if wheels were still readily available for them where I am, 29 felt like being on wagon wheels after racing BMX 20 & 24’s
Sounds like your bike is a newer model they aren’t too different though internally, this thread will help 2019 Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 - EMTB Forums
It should get you started, for your brakes disconnect at the lever end if you’ve got Shimano brakes, Shimano have all the dealer manuals online...
Yes I have with Assegai and Minion DHF, bought two of each both Assegai’s wobble and one Minion. Different bikes same 27.5 DT Swiss wheel setups though. All tyres were set up with soapy water and seated properly all popped, at first I thought it might be the Tannus inserts. I removed them and...
Yeah the weight takes a bit to get used to mine is half my weight. I had to drop into a bike shop a bit further afield to get a part for my other bike, caught the train there with it and planned to ride half way home catching the train back at the mid way point. Of course the lift was broken at...
I feel your pain took me a couple of go’s to get the motor in, I’m small and it’s heavy to line up all the bolts while the bike is in a stand. I ended up laying the frame on the floor.
That Abus lock is an absolute horror to line up as well, I ended up loosening the mounting bolts put the...
I got all the mounting hardware from the same place as the frame in Germany so maybe it is different. This is what my cable setup looks like.
I used Sugru on my dropper remote as it didn’t quite fit my thumb originally, it’s good stuff.
The dropper cable does needs to go over the motor and run between the two front bolts then to the side of the bottom battery cradle, if you run it on the outside of the mounting plate the bend becomes worse and you won’t be able to get the plastic guard back on. It’s a tight fit when all the...
