I have done 2 updates (1.0.3 -> 1.0.4 -> 1.1.1) all in 'workshop mode'. No issues, no remarks, nothing on my diagnostic reports. In my opinion/experience it's safe. By removing the chip before the update you are for 100% sure Bosch will not detect it.
My Cube Cross Hybrid is now 3 months equiped with the Volspeed 3.0 ; in total 845miles and have had not any error. I restricted the max speed to 21miles. I have used it with drive unit firmware 1.0.3 .0, 1.0.4.0 and now with 1.1.0.0
Not correct..... You can choose between 2 new firmware's (1.1.0.0) for your CX ; one with E-Mtb enabled (replaces Sport) and the other one with the 'regular' Eco/Tour/Sport/Turbo.
Nope.... There are more 1.1.0.0 update possibilities ; my local dealer asked specific which updated I wanted. So, I think you got the update for a 'non mtb' e-bike. Please ask for the 85nm updated with E-MTB modus. Please also ask for a diagnostic report so you can check other parameter like...
Updated to DU 1.1.0.0 (latest 85nm version) and so far no troubles (about 65km) of any kind with the VolSpeed V3. Restricted the speed to 35km/h. Love the new EMTB software handling ! ! !
