"Stretch" is really not an accurate term to describe what happens when chains wear. The wear causing chains to lengthen is between the pins and bushings. Pretty certain the side plates don't "stretch" to any meaningful degree.

100% agreed on the Ergotec products, good stuff and they recognize the need in the market. Definitely the way to go for an extender for more than just testing. Unfortunately difficult to source here with shipping from Europe being expensive, and still something of a bodge.

Higher bars do absolutely work, taller stacks will be the next geometry must have.
Unfortunately in recent years "manufacturers" have the steerers on new bikes cut at the factory to look cool and racy on the showroom floor (see also cables through headsets) and save the shop the hassle of...
Wasn't trying to offend! Glad it has worked for yourself. Just wanted to advise anyone not familiar with standard practice.

"and as an anti friction lubricant on threads to help ensure the correct torque setting is achieved."-Mikerb
In almost all cases (can't remember an exception off hand) this will lead to over torqued fasteners. Clean and dry for fasteners to allow correct torque.

I really like my Decoy, but the DVO suspenion on the Norco is nice, it's what my bikes usually end up with. The 900 wh battery too, if you accept the weight penalty on an already heavy bike.
Cheers.
Agreed, I'm 6' and 450-460mm keeps the front end really planted. It's a geometry figure that seems to get lost in the shuffle with all the other numbers (since the whole "the shorter chainstays, the better" thing blew over). 10mm makes so much difference here, especially considering the...
This: Especially if you are looking to downhill later. Geometry can't be upgraded. So it's something you need to think about at the start, when you get a new bike.
From the figures posted it has a 500mm rear centre (RC/chainstay length), which is very long. Given the wheelbase (and front...
Not wishing to belabour the countersteering point, but might be pertinent, (please feel free to correct me).
Above walking speed leaning is how two wheelers (of all types) turn, aside from brake or power sliding, or utilizing a berm. Counter steering initiates the lean and steering into the...
Yeah, it sounds like something else might suit your trails/riding style more. I have adjusted my Shimano EP8 to more closely mimic the Dyname, just better dynamics for our area.
Cheers.
What d3ftone said.
If you prefer to soft pedal a different drive would suit you more. If you are willing to put in the effort the Dyname is far more powerful and intuitive. Works especially well if ridden like an analogue bike, where you get out of the saddle at low cadence. The assist does...
Shorter cranks would likely help as well. Less distance between TDC and BDC and you can raise your seat the same amount that the cranks are reduced.
Cheers.
I could still ride well, but walking was hopeless.
Had an anterior replacement done at 10am this morning, walked out using a cane at 5pm. Right now SO much less pain (really none) than prior to the surgery :) . Huge thanks to all those who work in the medical field!
Cheers.
