Haha Strava is their pride and joy. I've heard horror stories of some roadies going out killing people who have posted e-bike times. Upload with caution :ROFLMAO:
Most people say "it's cheating" or "I've still got my legs" it's just a bit of stubbornness to accept that e-bikes as a whole are changing the lives of many people and becoming something that we see everywhere :)
Yup. 2 years ago, a Santa Cruz I had been building for a while got nicked. Such a shame but that's the reality of it. I wasn't fussed about the fact it was gone as much as the sentimental loss really. Oh well, that was then - now I'm extra careful!
Once people try them they love them. I have to say that most road cyclists are against them or make odd remarks because they enjoy the purity of cycling a standard bike and that's totally cool too! Everyone on bikes should just get along :P
You;ll love riding your emtb for sure ;)
I've had experience with the Bordo locks and can rate them. We sell a fair few of them here and the fold up style is quite useful! Spending a big chunk on locks is never a bad idea - protects your investment but unfortunately, same with my motorbike, if someone wants it bad enough, they'll try...
I would imagine that is a warranty claim. The sprocket shouldn't shear like that and even through heavy usage normally the freehub body will go before the cassette!
You should be able to but just one as chains should have a standard spacing between rollers and links. But it is odd what Thomas noted above with the chains.
I can't comment specifically about the tyres you have but can comment on my experience running the same rear tyre up front..
On my previous mondraker, I was in the same situation as you. I personally ran a rear tyre up front and couldn't tell any difference if I'm honest. You forget you have the...
I weight about 78-80kg all kitted up and I can ride 30 miles to Winchester from home (about 1500ft of total climbing en route) and I arrive at 55% charge each time.
I use the power settings 20, 40 and 60 and only use the first power mode. The most range I got was 58 miles from a charge on a...
For me the bad side of owning one is the running costs. I will be alternating cheaper chains to save money and run the cassette and chainring down till they die effectively. 2019 will probably bring around 10k miles on the Levo so will be able to give a better perspective running costs by 2020...
I actually run with a kryptonite D-lock in my backpack. I put it in a "laptop" style wallet so it is flat against my back and you don't notice it is there. I do have a cable lock under my saddle when I don't have a ride or trip planned where I may have to stop somewhere for long.
If i clean anything after the ride it is always the chain. Di2 might help but to be honest, i think the biggest cause of chain failure or short life is due to the fact that almost all shifts on an ebike happen under more tension than a standard bicycle. It's weird how smooth my levo shifts if I...
I use some MuckyNutz fat bike guards. When it is wet, i use one on my saddle rails too but it doesn't do too much! Front one keeps shite out my eyes and rear just keeps the bike a bit tidier.
After seeing the tight fitting guards above, mine look awful but they look better in person than they do...
Interesting to read this thread even though I'm (very) late to the party!
I'm only at 550kms and I had one link snap 2 weeks ago. 80kms later after having it replace had it happen.
Something I noticed is that if you shift just as you stop pedalling and then pedal again, the shift is very...
Just caught my eye on this thread. Absolutely wicked how such a simple idea can be made by the right person for the enjoyment of people on here.
Hopefully you can get a small batch into production for people who want one and I hopefully no other 3rd party manufacturers click onto this. Defo a...
I have a 2018 Levo. It came with specialized alloy pedals - pretty nice and comparable to my old DMR V12's. Grips wise, took the factory Specialized ones off for some Renthal Kevlar ones. I really liked them from previous bikes I had.
Saddle..Hmm, not sure why I changed the factory one because...
