Levo Gen 3 Second Levo post! Budget air shock upgrade thoughts.

To be completely honest, I've ridden MTB since before suspension was a thing, and in all the time I've spent riding a suspension MTB I have never had a seal failure, nor serviced a shock or fork of any brand, and I've not paid someone to. Sometimes I'll wake up in a cold sweat, screaming over...

Levo Gen 3 Second Levo post! Budget air shock upgrade thoughts.

Considering they have been building premium suspension for motorcycles, trucks, race cars, and mountain bikes for decades, it seems unlikely that Fox doesn't have the resources to make this right. It took a while, but Fox completely redesigned the shock to address the problems and serve their...

Levo Gen 3 Fox Float X2 Settings on 2022

After getting a "new" 2022 Float Factory X2 from JensonUSA I couldn't get it down to 30% sag (16mm). Everything from 250 PSI up to 300 PSI (with the obligatory slow pump to equalize +/- air) resulted in 19mm. I thought this was a little weird. So, I called Fox to ask about this. The tech asked...

Levo SL Gen 1 Front Suspension upgrade, any tips?

I just installed a Cane Creek Helm Mk II purchased at half price on their deals page a couple of weeks ago. It is magnificent. My issues were similar to what you describe, getting numb hands and sore shoulders from fighting a fork that didn't have the right stuff. Also, saw a 0.5 mph avg speed...

Levo Gen 3 Decent replacement shock for a heavier rider

For any who don't know, a shock pump is designed to not allow the shock to lose pressure when the pump is removed. As the pump's connector is unscrewed the Schroeder valve on the shock closes before the seal on the shock pump is released. The air heard escaping when removing the pump is only...

Levo Gen 3 Second Levo post! Budget air shock upgrade thoughts.

Last week I purchased a Jenson Sale page 2022 Fox Factory Float X2 for a very good price. Next, I found that Fox Service is replacing all 21-23 X2 models with 2024 versions. Just pay shipping. So, I called their Service line to confirm, filled out an online form per their instructions, and sent...

Levo Gen 2 Pump holders for Turbo Levo

If you are eliminating a pack and still not using the bottle cage, this soft, weather resistant, zipper container from Amazon might work. I carry a Lezyne mini-pump, tire tools, patches/plugs, and a multi-tool inside. It can be formed to fit around the shock. This one is fitted for a Fox...

FWIW, the Float Factory X2 fits on a 2021 Turbo Levo (alloy).

    2024 Fox X2 changes - better reliability

After some feedback in another forum, I'm contacting Fox and asking for the Standard Tune rather than the Specialized Tune. The message came from someone who dyno tests shocks for a living. The scuttlebutt is that these "factory tunes" often suffer from too many cooks in the kitchen (Fox and...

    2024 Fox X2 changes - better reliability

Okay, here's the skinny from Fox support on swapping out new shocks. First, I was asked for the serial number. Based upon that, the rep said they would rather the rider run the shock until it exhibits symptoms. Specifically, the slurping noises that indicate there is an internal seal issue...

    2024 Fox X2 changes - better reliability

Reading through multiple threads across several forums, it seems like Fox is trying to avoid anyone being injured from a failure and is replacing all earlier versions of the X2 voluntarily. By being proactive they avoid having to make a public announcement of a recall. If that is the reasoning...

    2024 Fox X2 changes - better reliability

While doing post-purchase research and reading up on tuning and customer feedback on the X2, I've now found several of these threads mentioning the factory swap for a 24 model. (on MTBR and PinkBike as well) I was so close to ordering a CC Kitsuma Air, to match the Helm Mk2 Air fork that was...

Mission Control Mission Control App Requires Cell Data Signal

Yes, it makes so much sense to spend hundreds of dollars more in order to acquire the data the OEM's built-in tech already provides. Granted, for bikes that don't offer this already, and the owner already owns the Garmin device, the Speed Sensor accessory or data harvesting from the bike is a...

Mission Control Mission Control App Requires Cell Data Signal

The most significant issue is when I'm measuring "wheel mileage" while working as a trail steward building trail, making maps, designing routes, and things like that for my local riding area. If the app stops working it doesn't record the mileage for that ride. It does add to the Odometer's...

I might try it if they would offer it via the Amazon App store. My preference is to avoid ever setting up a payment account on Google.

Mission Control Mission Control App Requires Cell Data Signal

Which is why I linked the other thread I created after having that conversation with Support. Despite the fact that there are two examples in this forum of people who have installed TCU2 on earlier models and have many miles without a problem. There are also youtube videos of shops swapping the...

Mission Control Mission Control App Requires Cell Data Signal

For the moto I load maps on the phone using a navigation app (OsmAnd) and even without cellular signal have full navigation functionality using the phone's GPS receiver. Also use the GeoTracker app for recording tracks, and for location finding while building trail in places without cell...

Mission Control Mission Control App Requires Cell Data Signal

I'm a volunteer trail builder ⛏ and map maker 🗺. The apps are tools for this stuff. Wheel distance is more accurate than GPS distance. Also, MC can be a useful fitness feedback device. Though I seldom look at it while riding, mostly while sipping a cold one 🍺 after the ride. :)
