    Decathlon Stilus upgrades

To be honest the pic misrepresents the size, it looks massive doesn’t it! It’s actually quite subtle, I’ll photograph it from a different angle.

    Decathlon Stilus upgrades

Pop riveted a bum-saver rear mud flap (couple of quid from Decathlon) to the front mudhugger. Hanging in nicely, should help keep the crud off me and the battery cover.

Opinions on Bosch CX lack of tuning via software apps

This graph from ebike-mtb here: https://ebike-mtb.com/en/new-bosch-magic-tour-modus-2021-e-mtb-news/ describes perfectly what I‘ve found about the assist levels of my gen4. I find them in general too strong particularly at the lower end. I used eco yesterday on a massive steep climb in...

    Overnight trip, e-bike in car?

Whoa. We lost two MTBs through the hatchback window. Don’t rely on not being able to open the tailgate.

Opinions on Bosch CX lack of tuning via software apps

If I could perfect the gen 4 CX for myself I’d have an eco-lite (about 66% of eco), eco, emtb-lite (again about 66% of emtb) and emtb, so that’s eco lite eco emtb lite emtb

How much do you want for the battery? PM if that’s better.

    BHF - London to Brighton

I cycle the Holes Bay cycle route/footpath on my Stilus a couple of times a week. As largely flat, I cycle either “off” or “eco” depending on how I feel, the wind, whether I’m in a rush, etc. There’s short cropped grass with a firm surface underneath, alongside the tarmac. It’s been noticeable...

    Decathlon Stilus upgrades

Yes I’m 99% sure that’s the one. TBH the idea came from the LBS when I asked about the problem, who got the short front off the shelf and showed me what to do - so I didn’t select the short front, it was handed to me. I’m sure it’s that one.

    Decathlon Stilus upgrades

The mudguards are all mudhuggers. “All” because there are three. The rear two are particularly successful with the rack. The front needs extending. The rear is a standard rear mudhugger with an additional front mudhugger fitted back to front. Pre~rack the join was lovely so you’ll be ok...

    Decathlon Stilus upgrades

Front and rear pannier racks very successfully fitted. The rear one is a little low for normal size rear panniers without further rack modifications. 30cm front panniers will happily fit on the back. These racks are solid, no mucking about. Looking forward to some touring in a few months time.

    Decathlon resillience

My Stilus has been brilliant. Over 1000 miles without fault. It’s smooth, comfortable and quiet. Fantastic.

Certainly looks like a warranty issue, that crack’s not right!

Thanks everyone. I have taped round all four sides of the cover but I’ll check under the cover next time I have five minutes.

Daft question time, I’ve had my Stilus a couple of months, great bike, and while it came with two keys I’ve never used either. What do they do!? I’ve assumed they release the battery compartment cover but do they disable the bike in any way? Thanks.

I filled the gap at the back with a short front turned around. Perfect.

Access to all footpaths for cyclists, government petition

Just saying what I think. If you want me to say what you think then yay, go for it, ride where you like.

Access to all footpaths for cyclists, government petition

I feel the rights of way are too contentious and historic to change. Footpaths are appropriate for people, width, gates, stiles, etc. MTBs can get a bad enough reception where they are allowed to be without venturing onto footpaths as well. I can’t support the idea because I simply don’t agree...
