Kudos to Hunt. Wheels just arrived. Tyres to go on tomorrow and cassette as and when it arrives so it is all ready to pop on when the bike arrives next Thurs.
Agree with a lot of what you say with exception of last part. The BlueBook lists the H as being coil compatible but says to check with manufacturer.
With the Giant about 95% of the range was airshock with only the SX in the Trance range coming with coil as standard. At 26Kg though it needed it !!!
So new toy delivery scheduled for Thurs 10th Nov. List of goodies awaiting include Fox 36, Fox Dropper, 4 pot calipers, new wheelset & hubs, DHR IIs and Rockstop guard.
On my now gone Giant Trance SX I ran a coil shock (standard with bike) following years of issues trying to get the Fox...
Part of wheel replacement is the hub scenario. On the Giant SX I replaced the hubs with Hopes and had zero issue. I don't do crazy stuff and tend to use the trails at Comrie which are technical and challenging but not big jumps etc.
Hunt's on the way with Shimano M7100 cassette to let me have...
I think they are being cautious which I get. As you say tho it is more analogue like than big 25Kg monster as per my old Giant Trance SX.
So far doesn't look as if anybody has replaced standards with Hunt wheels.
Saw some recommendations to use different wheel sets including the Hunt ones that are reasonably priced and come in a weigh saving of nearly 500g.
Speaking to folk at Hunt though and they are recommending much heavier wheelset due to the torque.
Anybody here fitted a Hunt set and how did it go ?
How did this go ? Also what forks are you using ? I have a set of Fox 36 Float Factory coming to fit to new purchase but some confusion around the 180-203 Adapter as there appear to be 2 in F203P/PM and F203P/PA.
Lower spec and higher cost was how our LBS described the 2023 range. Grabbed myself a cut price H30 yesterday and have Fox 36s and some other toys on the way as well. :)
Upgrade to 2020 RideControl One which in UK was £60. That gives you ANT+ so you can choose Garmin or Wahoo and pair sensors from bike to them to give you the data you want.
I have same bike, same year paired to Garmin 830.
Solution = N+1....
I have Giant Trance SX for MTB and R&M Supercharger for touring. Latter has rudimentary front sus and a suspension seat with nice chunky tyres.
What a lot of emotion about not a lot. Folk can choose to use whatever recording method, app or device they want for whatever reason they want. I used Strava with HRM to help gauge fitness, calorie burn etc. On my non e road bike stats are interesting for progress monitoring but not so much on...
