Glad to hear you mad a decision. Now forget about all the reviews and go have fun. I did the same in Jan and got the Reign+2. They are all going to be a huge amount of fun and I as well went for value and I already was used to the Yamaha motor so staying with what I know has made a difference.
IMO the Giant bikes are better equipped for the price, their EMBT mode is really good for so many types of terrain. I race enduro and live in the Lake Tahoe Area. I used to be all modes no auto. After riding with a friend who’s Bosh motor also has auto mode I’m now using it way more especially...
My update. The shop put the RE on and as stated earlier there’s a 90 degree angle right at the plug in to the motor port. I got a refund and will wait for the new RE due this summer. It did plug in but it’s very snug and the concern on all sides is rough terrain will tug on the connector...
I bought one at my LBS, it has been at the shop for 6mo. He called his Giant rep and the word back from Giant was its compatable with my 2022 Reign E +2. I'm picking it up next week and will let everyone know if the connector is long enough.
I had the 2020 version and now have the 2022 E+2
Medium just the bike stock no bottle cage etc weighed at shop 53.4 lbs. the addition of a pound here or there IMO will not make a difference. The bike it awesome. Handles tech DH lines better and and with a different tire width/pattern does great...
I just purchased my 2022 E 2 last week. I’m 5’11” in my bike shoes (5’10” without) I got the medium. I had the 2021 in a L and because of the reach it was big. It was confidence inspiring going downhill but not very maneuverable on the singletrack. I went with Lee Michaels sizing formula...
Giant has a buyback program, I'm going to check it out. I was told today at my bike shop the markety is still such that I will get what I paid or more for my 1 yr old Giant E Reign. I'm upgrading and sizing down L to M. Still waiting for the delivery so theres still not much stock in California.
I hope they do not switch, I lif=ke the feel of the Yamaha motor and especilly like the 5 power modes (I don't use the auto mode). The 5 modes gives me excellent control of how much battery I'm using and even with a 500w battery I'm getting over 40 miles with 3500+ elevation. I'm upgrading to...
Does anyone have geometry specs yet?
I have a 2020 E Reign and was already thinking when its time for a new front fork to go 29er but was concerned it would screw up the bikes handling. Josh Carlson did it to his stock frame and raced it, maybe the prototype for the new E Reign.
I'd like to...
RR, No i used it for 2 rides when I was learning about the gearing on my bike and what I could do with it. After that hardly ever. The power is unpredictable and surges making it hard on single track and its hard to determine how much of your own power to use at any given moment. It eats up...
