Back in my motorcycling days we used to say that when you stopped looking at your reflection in shop windows as you rode by it was time for a new bike
A quick update to my earlier post. I have had no success getting my Edge 820 to connect to my Shimano Steps system so I gave up and bought an Edge 830 which connected straight away and lets me use data from the built in sensors on the Edge display (including showing stuff like cadence on screens...
Different tack from me, why not keep your eMTB and buy an older used acoustic MTB, I still have, and love, my 2008 Orange G3. It's still a great bike and only stands me at £250. Best of both worlds IMHO.
Oh, and take no notice of the 'Name Nazis', nearly everyone else on here is much more...
My wife rode a mates full suss bike for a couple of minutes and decided she wanted an ebike. We ended up buying her a Trek Verve + which she loves and suits her 'off-road phobic' needs perfectly. I wanted something lighter and have always ridden hard tails so the choice was pretty limited but a...
TLDR, haven't got time to read the whole thread today but FWIW I've kept my three acoustic bikes and which bike I ride will depend on who I'm riding with. #2 son is a keen road/gravel cyclist and much, much, fitter than I am so that'll be the Orrun then, likewise if the others have eBikes. But...
The Bosch charger for my wife's Trek outputs 36VDC at 2A so 72 Watts, that power bank can supply 200 Watts max so, in theory, it should do the job (try it straight away so you can return it if it doesn't work). but a one hour break would only give you an extra 60 or 65 Wh so maybe 12% extra into...
I'm in the SPD camp.I've used them for 20+ years, I don't see me changing to flats anytime soon.
Shimano PD-M520s are great, I have three sets on three different bikes Orbea Urrun eMTB, Orange G3 'acoustic' MTB and Merida road bike.
First proper ride on my new Urrun 30 on Friday. I have since toned boost down a little (to 43NM) but it did mean I could finesse up some short steep gnarly climbs where on an analogue bike I'd have been struggling just to keep spinning. I'm 70 next March FWIW and bought the Urrun in the hopes...
They are indeed. I've just been out with a couple of mates for my first proper ride on the new bike, from Reddish to Werneth Low park, 21 miles in all, I'm not as unfit as I thought but having a bit of help on the climbs made the ride a lot more enjoyable
And I've just bought my first eMTB (an Orbea Urrun 30) as I'm no longer fit enough to enjoy the rides I used to do 20 years ago. Hoping I can relive the good old days around Manchester and the Peak District.
