Can a fit rider (eg someone who rides 99% of time on eco) ride with "regular" ebikers with this bike and keep pace and achieve the same range as if they were on trail?
Yes thats exactly what I did. As simple as that. Just remove the wheels so you dont contaminate the rotors by mistake. You will see that they have different bolts, but the attachment is the same.

I noticed an annoying issue with the shimano motor.
Lets say I'm climbing a fire road in Trail mode. If I drop to a low gear and spin with high cadence I feel like the motor is resisting me even though the speed is say 12km/h. Only if I move to a harder gear will i feel the motor picking...
As far as I understand there isnt much rear tyre clearance for 29er wheels. You will have to use a short tyre.

I've had about 4 rides on the bike so far about 120km all together of technical terrain.
Must say I'm in love with this bike. Every ride gets me super pumped. It took me about 2 rides to get used to the bike, and on the last ride I already started feeling really comfortable on it doubling stuff...
