Does anyone know the torque spec for the lower shock bolt? Also, can you get the service manuals with torque specs anywhere? I went to Trek’s website and nothing comes up. I’ve mostly owned Specialized bikes and they have great manuals with all the specs easily downloadable on their website.
I have the same bike and run Maxxis DD casing at 21 front 23 rear on black runs in the bike park. With cushcore I run 3 lbs less with no flats. Im 200lb and a fairly strong intermediate level rider.
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. Lived there for the first 52 years of my life. Grew up surfing and then mountain biking since the mid 80’s. It has always been a place that is very closed to outside surfers and bikes and anyone who doesn’t think like “us”. Every single trail was illegal in...
On my kenevo sl the best I’ve done is 24 miles with 2300 ft elevation gain, riding in eco and trail only, with 9% batterey left. This was riding moderate climbs with lots of flow trail/jump lines and rock garden descents. I love the lighter ebikes but the range is definitely a bit of a negative.
I’ve got a Kenevo Sl and it is perfect for Coler and the other good stuff around Bentonville. I rode it at Angel Fire and it was a blast. I actually had more fun than on a DH bike. They are silly expensive, though.
Alloy frames crack as well. Look up Paul Aston discussing all the cracked frames from Commencal. I’m not a Commencal hater. They have the best DH bike I’ve ever ridden. Just saying all bikes can fail if ridden hard enough. Or stupid enough in my case.
SquireRides is correct. I had the same “problem”. Took it to my LBS and the mechanic said it was nothing wrong, just the design of the hub. I just be careful when removing the wheel now so it doesn’t fall on the concrete.
I agree with cozzy. I want to love a non-ebike, so I built up a Stumpjumper Evo. I’ve ridden it 6 or 7 times and it just isn’t as fun. Time to sell it. Maybe age (66). The lighter, less power ebikes are the perfect balance for me. Currently a Kenevo SL, but looking seriously at the new Trek.
Hopefully this will help:
I have a 210 shimmed to 200 On an S3. From the top of the seat collar to the center of the seat rails, measuring inline with the center of the seat post, is 325mm of exposed post. The seat post is inserted as far as it will go into the seat tube. If my inseam were any...
Agree 100% with all the opinions. My Kenevo SL works very well in the Bike Park, but nothing beats a true DH bike. The faster you go the better they (and you) get and they are indestructible in aluminium. I‘m waiting for the new Commencal Supreme before I pull the trigger.
This is definitely one of the worst things for ebike batteries. I always set a timer so can unplug as soon as it is fully charged. I don’t know why the manufacturers don’t have auto shut off on the chargers when fully charged.
I’m 200lb with gear. I’ve had issues with X2 blowing through the travel on my YT Decoy and Kenevo SL Even with 5 volume spacers. The cheapest and best fix was a custom tune. Fluid Focus did the shock on my Kenevo and it solved all the problems for about $250.00.
What has been the cause of your motor failures? I was very concerned about buying a Specialized ebike after reading about motor failures. After talking with 2 of my LBS who sell a large number of Specialized ebikes, they both informed me they see very few motor problems. As the Kenevo SL was the...
Agree with Timochka69. Grip 2 damper upgrade is much cheaper. The Rhythm fork is slightly heavier than the Factory fork. I doubt you would notice on an ebike. In the past Fox has stated the Grip 2 damper does not fit in the Rhythm fork, but it does. I’ve done it with no issues.
Or someone is an old guy and comes from a moto background where the fork clamps are called triple clamps as the forks are clamped in 3 places: the upper fork crown, lower fork crown and the axle. Park Tools used to refer to MTB forks with the same lingo back in the day. So, everyone is correct...
