    Creaking/clicking from motor area

I was chasing a load induced creak for a while, could have sworn it was from motor area but turned out to be the rear wheel hub, after taking wheel off for other reason it clicked as I took tension off axle.....creak vanished after that. Something with the hub must've not been sitting quite right.

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

They're pretty good, not a drastic improvement, grip is better and the ott is great at making them feel coil like. If honest I liked the the Lyriks and have thought that doing the new airshaft and adding a token or 2 allowing lower air pressure would have them feeling very similar. New and...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

Only had 1 ride so far but it was good, have a 2.8 dhf on rear and chip flipped. Def easier to move rear in air (not that I can jump), still stable as on quick downs, somehow the rear felt even more plush but responsive, huge grip over roots etc, so far no issues at all. Just need to get...

    Rail 9 cassette removal?

Mines deep enough it just doesn't fit over the lip thats halfway down the endcap, internal diameter of the tool is whats stopping me.

    Rail 9 cassette removal?

Thanks for confirming my thoughts, might go cheap and run a dremel inside the tool and see if that works before buying the proper tool ? Edit....seems NZ is sold out of the 5.2 Park tool anyway ?

    Rail 9 cassette removal?

The 9 has an XD Sram, I thought it only needed a Shimano cassette tool but mine doesn't fit over the axle cap and the cap doesn't seem to come out from outside of cassette. Anyone done this on the Bontrager wheels? Or is my tool just a cheapie that has too thick a sidewalls?

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

I really like it, really smooth with the large bearing and a nice tactile grip on the lever. I still have to de weight to drop post but am used to that now.

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

Hey, if you get a shock from Jesse (DVO NZ) he will sort the mount kit if you let him know mate. You'll get a fright at the mount kit price tho ? https://www.shockcraft.co.nz/rear-shocks/shock-conversions/deaktiv

Rail battery fell out while riding!

Haven't had battery fall out but just after finishing my 1st enduro event noticed the bottom of my batt was moving a little, took batt out to find the 2 allen bolts in the bottom batt mount were nearly fully unwound ? Something to keep an eye on in future.

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Yep 57.5, haven't needed any extra travel so far. I've got a 9 so did need mounting hardware as it has the trunnion mount shock. The 7 has thru bolt shock but not sure if it needs different hardware or just correct shock bushes sorry.

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

I've noticed the same thing, takes a bit more effort on lever and dropper works better taking some weight off saddle. Have got one of these on the way to try as the stock lever is a little flimsy... NZ$ 27.69 39%OFF | ZTTO MTB Dropper Post Lever Seatpost Dropper Bike Adjust Seat Post Drop...

Trek Rail upgrades, what have you done?

Stuck with standard 57.5, no troubles with lack of travel. Just make sure shock reservoir doesn't hit downtube with 65mm.

    Medium Rail 175mm Dropper?

Yep theres 2 clamps on downtube, 3mm allen bolts from outside frame. I did have to drop front of motor with mine as cable was really tight against motor, easy as though, 2 torx bolts each side up front and loosen 2 rear ones to lower front of motor a tad, cable must have been pinched slightly as...
