Unauthorised trail building. What's your view?

In my neck of the woods both happening within meters of the other. One sanctioned and the other non-sanctioned We don't cut down live trees and follow the path of least resistance, or what we call POLR trails. Whereas with the proper authority you cut down all the trees and go in as straight...

Usinng an E-MTB to access back-country skiing, two successful sorties

Cool! We used to use our town bikes bitd in the mtn. town I lived in to access the back country on the snowmobile packed trails up the drainages as well as just to get to the bus stop for powder days on the mtn.. This was before fad tires and assist also. No longer live in that terrain but can...

    Bafang M620 and EU laws

I do have a throttle and in fact wouldn't own an eBike without one and why I use the Bafang motor. I only use it for starting out and as a walk assist however. If someone chooses an eBike with a throttle and then doesn't pedal at all it bothers me but they are the ones that are missing out on...

    Bafang M620 and EU laws

"If someone does not care much about legality - its still a grey area in some countries - then m620 is sweet option if used reasonably." I live in an area of the US that is grey. The M620 is a next level of fun if speed thrills and the over 100nm torque on tap is league leading . You still need...

How to order Cheeb / dengfu E10

It is the Lunar New Year until the 15th so don't expect any communications until then. Pretty sure they are still in business.

    Just ordered my first Vitus!

Sorry to hear that CJ. It sounds to me more like a controller/BMS issue than the actual motor works though. Especially regarding the power cut under load issue. Maybe just a new battery or controller will get it back up and going? Best of luck!

    Bultaco Brinco battery connection

That is what is commonly known as a Rosenberger plug. Look for info using that? While not a common connection it has been used on a number of eBikes over the years such as R&Mueller bikes.

Out here in the way western US they don't mess around with trees, they just mow them down with BA brush cutters Reason for this is that they are putting in a new road to replace one, Bay Ocean Drive below, that got ruined by landslides 10yrs ago. It is going on right up the road from my place...

You don't come across Seal's every day on a bike ride But I do see these on about a daily basis as there is a herd of around 40 of them that live in the hood. They are very shy though usually and never time to get the phone out for a shot. They must be getting used to me cause they didn't...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

That looks nasty. You obviously are a way more rad rider than my old XC self. Good for you! My situation is such that I don't really care if my fork is scrap and certainly would not sell it on. Thanks for your concern though.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

I didn't document the process because my hands were busy. Imagine a cordless grinder with a 3" slitter disc as the tool. We certainly are on other end of the gen pop if that is so and also the planet just about. Never had the pleasure of even owning but a few RS forks. Long story but none...

    FOR AND AGAINST MUDGUARDS

It is totally possible to come to a grinding, literally, halt in some soils without mud guards. There is nothing that is going to work in mud that is that sticky other than staying off the trails.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Hey, at least I didn't take out the whole arch! Plenty of meat left for it to serve it's purpose which on a thru axle fork is not as demanding as the old 10mm QR vert dropout days. In fact it used to be known as a "brake arch" bitd when the brake posts were mounted high up on the stanchions. A...

What did you buy your ebike this week?

170mm dropper from 100mm stock for a better fit: New wheels and move to Mullet: RF AR 35's with 2.8 rear/2.5 front WTB Vigilante rubber and DT 350's for better engagement. Stock RS Yari fork was a bit short in the arch so I relieved it some for fit:
