was up the long mynd last weekend riding a few ridge lines, not sure this was a good idea when it’s blowing a gale, scared the shit out of me.
My seat post seams to have developed a bit of forward and back play so much so that one one occasion i struggled to get it to go down without a bit of a...
did you realise they had gone straight away? was the handling bad or was it making weird noises?
Are you going to replace them yourself? or is it a bike shop job ?
i have got one, had it a couple of years, never use it - paranoid the first time i film myself i’m going to have a massive off !!! peak district is awesome there’s so much over there both official and ‘unofficial’ to be honest none of the youtube videos do it justice IMO.
As for stainburn, i...
just got back from stainburn, first time over there on emtb and first time there since the chopped all the trees down, the boulder trail is still as fucking bonkers as i remember it, i was hoping a bit of battery power would help me tame it a bit especially climbing the boulders but i guess i...
Just spent the day in the peak district, 35km 3000 feet climbing, 2 bars left on the battery.
Did parkin clough, the beast, spud ally, lockerbrook/screaming mile and alpine line/les arcs.
The bike spits out boulders like it’s shelling peas.
Far too good a bike for my meagre talents.
i don’t know if you’ve read the main canyon thread or not but there are quite a few of us had problems with missed delivery times and things missing in the box - that being said if you can put it to the back of your mind and just be patient you’re going to end up with a beast of a bike, well...
i’m 5’11 all my other bikes have been a size large, i did the canyon pps and it recommended a size medium, i went with that and it’s spot on. If you normall ride XL and it’s recommending a medium, maybe split the difference and go large?
you’ll be reyt with either, i’m the same height as you, got the medium size it recommended and put a 35mm length stem on that ! Ive had no problems on any climbs, if you feel the front end getting light just hunch forward a bit.
Cannock chase today, cold and muddy but at least it stayed dry, shame i’m full of cold but still managed to enjoy it.
Five ways and upper cliff (my favourite section) closed due to tree felling.Bike straight back in the shed, 3rd muddy ride without a clean, i really must get round to it.
Just got my bike back - long story short, visiting family 2+ hours away i took the bike with me, managed to crash the car while up there, insurance company transported the car back down to their accident centre close to me, so 3 weeks on i get the car back and finally go pick the bike up.
Quick...
it really is a cracking bike mate, great post, have you got the bike? or only just ordered it? how long do you think it will be before you can swing a leg over it? as it will be agony having it teasing you in the garage.
i swapped out the stem on mine for a hope 35mm as it felt too long for me, a lot more comfortable now but i prefer a more compact ride rather than a stretched out one.
don’t they have different brakes? sram guides on the 8, shimano zee in the 7.
First time i’ve ever had shimano brakes on this and i really like them, i had guides on my orange, hated them and bought some hopes.
went back today did the exact same route although it was windier / colder / muddier and the rider not as fresh from yesterday so only had 1 bar left, covered 37km climbed 900 metres, still can’t get over some of the descents, if you stopped to look how steep and loose they are you would probably...
used a combination really, had never been before but was aware there was a lot of climbing so was trying to manage the battery from the start turning the motor off on flat and descents but not so much as i was knackering myself up, as we plopped out the last decent onto the road i had 2 bars...
Day out in the Peak District today, what an amazing day and massive test for the bike, took a right hammering today was expecting things to shake loose but just given it the once over and everything’s fine. should have probably put a bit more air in forks and shock as they were bottoming out on...
