We established on another thread that on the Medium Cube Stereo 160 the top of the forks would hit the downtube if the steering lock broke which would scratch and possibly damage the downtube if that happened. Looks like on the Large frames the fork has clearance and wouldn't hit the frame.

Weird, I was riding a '22 one yesterday and the fork compression knob would definitely hit the downtube if the steering lock wasn't there.

It's not when it's compressed, it's the crown of the fork that would hit the downtube even when static with no one on it. It's a crappy design.

It looks more to do with the forks will hit the frame if the steering lock wasn't there, at least that's what the '22 bike is like.

Youd be better off getting a hand held hot wire (£20-30 for a cheapo one) to cut the foam yourself. Haha well I did think of that, but the only place I can consistently get it to make the noise on command is really far away. I'll find something more local that'll do the same trick.

I thought about that before I got my Cube but was told it wouldn't be a good idea for one reason or another but if it works for you then thats cool 😎

Cool, I'll take a better look then and shove some foam or something in there and see what happens.

No it's Rockshox front and rear but the nosie is definitely up front somewhere.
