Im an electrical engineer and can assure you this is a load of rubbish. The chargers (basically a rectifier) like most things have an AC input operation range - it doesn’t really care where it gets its voltage from it will continue to give a consistent DC output voltage to charge your battery...
Fitted the MM up front and EC on the rear. The EC was quite tough to initally mount (could have done with a few more hours in the warm house) but it soon seated.
I used airshot to inflate and the new muc off tyre sealant, hopefully they stay sealed as im riding tomorrow!
Used r2-bike.com -...
After messing with various bits of helitape over the years, i dropped my new Levo off at Invsiframe this morning and they did the frame, forks and cranks for a very reasonable price. The quality difference is night and day compared to when i’ve had a go [emoji23]
Well my CC weighs 15.8kg without the battery and front wheel. Medium frame, with pedals and tubes still.
Thats within the limit for that carrier so im happy!
Tried the Thule Thruride out on my regular mtb earlier, seems really well made, easy to handle bike up and i think its safer for the bike to travel like this due to lower sense of gravity. Bike felt rock solid when clamped on.
Will report back when i try the levo out on it.
Ive just bought a Thule thruride 565 however I’m yet to test it. But i read on a german forum a guy has mounted his Levo on it and travelled in excess of 3000 miles without an issue.
It clamps the front thru axel and rear wheel. The weight limit is 17kg on the carrier but i figured without the...
None of what ive seen on here has put me off. Its like any product, consumers tend to create reviews based on things going wrong. How many have Specialized sold vs how many people reporting problems. I collect mine Sunday and cannot wait!!
Well im chuffed, ordered my CC on 2nd Jan and got the phone call today to say its arrived. Going to pick it up from Chris at Berkshire Cycles on Sunday, cant come soon enough!
Im an electrical engineer and would say this is normal, the charger is converting 240V AC to 48V DC and charging a battery of >500Wh. All chargers in general get warm, the heat loss is the result of the step down in power from mains.
Thanks, same as me! I think the medium may be small then. I want to use the bike to cover some ground as well as a play / trail centre.
I may change my order to large after reading this!
