If I have the motor turned all the way down it bikes ok, but if I turn the battery completly off it feels like I am on a old spinning bike with the resistance turned waaay up. Even on the flat i will be outrun by a casual jogger or even a powerwalker. THis doesnt feel right? Am I regenerating...

Going from 8 to 10 wouldn’t make that much of a different and only add extra unsprung weight. The range is still in the 5-600% range, so there’s probably a gear for any situation.
