I don't think it'll be unpopular as such, i guess it depends what you want from riding.
We're off in a few weeks with out first 4 days being in Champery so the boy can race the European Championships, then we've got 6 days after that with Morzine as our base. But he'll be hitting Chatel and...
TBH i'd swap the brakes rather than the rotors, the DB8s are 'ok' at best. Rotors are very simple to swap yes, but i'm not sure it'll give you a lot. The fact you're not able to lock up your tyres says to me it's more likely that your pads are knackered/rubbish rather than your rotors. But you...
I'm different to some i think, i bought mine accepting that the motor is likely scrap either during or after the warranty and will need replacing before the bike does. It potentially means a cost of £500-1000 but lets be fair here, that's not a completely insane amount after 2 years of...
960wh, that's actually insane isn't it... we're going to be getting to the realms of 100+ mile ebikes soon. Well, in terms of MTB ebikes that is... Rather than roadies :)
There's really not. Pull the cable 'hand tight' when threaded, then use the barrel adjuster to dial it in. It's honestly no more complex than that. You may pull it fractionally too tight and dial out one way, or slightly too loose and dial the other.
I've been there more than once. I bought for example a RM Slayer, 180mm both ends as me and the boy were hitting harder stuff, but then i found 1. I wasn't hitting bigger stuff and 2. it was restrictive on many other types of riding.
Like everything in MTBs it's always a compromise. A DH bike...
Well i'm not sure we had all the information (or never read it correctly) i thought you were just swapping the post... but if you're swapping the levers then yes the brake/mounts can be slightly complicated.
I don't mind you being frustrated, it's all a learning curve, but honestly, there's...
Well that depends on the clamps/setup on the lever end. You can get multiple types depending on the brakes on both bikes, I-spec, SRAM, band-on etc etc... So it's possible that they may swap easily, but it's also possible they won't
What brakes are on both bikes and can you do pics of the...
i do agree with the guy below me though (and Plummet from another thread) in that just because someone else can ride something, doesn't mean it's necessarily the appropriate bike.
But... i've found that if you won't do a 20' gap on bike A, then getting bike B won't mean you will suddenly start...
