Hi Bearing Man, I have been reading your clear explanations of the motor failing mechanism of water ingress between the crankshaft and the freewheel sleeve, and the packing of green grease behind the white plastic washer to avoid the water ingress. But in your new Crankshaft Upgrade kit there...
If problem happens with two different batteries and LBS has checked the cables and speed sensor magnet and found them OK, then looks like it is time for a new motor.
If you want to ride your ebike, don´t let your LBS delay the process, try contacting Shimano Service in Facebook, post your...
Installation of Bosch SmartSystem Motors require a download of a configuration file from Bosch, this configuration file includes the ebike manufacturer configuration: Wheel diameter, Speed Limit, Light Port, High and Lower Voltage Ports, Speed sensor magnet location (Spoke or valve), PowerMore...
One clear disadvantage of full ceramic bearings is that they cannot handle the same loads as their steel counterparts.
Ceramic bearings have lower toughness, making them more prone to fracture or damage under extreme loads and impacts.
Error 503 is Speed Sensor Fault, and may be your error is 503 with suffix 01b.
I'd give a try to the speed sensor location, distance, cable...
I just googled it, and I was wrong, error means:
Your drive unit was restarted unexpectedly...
In a Facebook group, somebody has found that there are some eBikes (like 2023 Cannondale Moterra Neo 3, and probably other bikes like the Ghost E-ASW) with the Bosch Performance CX Smartsystem, and the motor is mounted to the frame in an innovative way:
** The Bosch Mounting Plates at the front...
Place the bike upside down and spray contact cleaner into the sockets, so liquid + grit drips out of the sockets.
The cable is available in different lengths, you have to measure yours before buying

If the internal battery is depleted, then Kiox starts working again when plugging the USB, but if yours doesn't, it might be defective. According other forums, internal Lithium battery in Kiox 330 is not replaceable.
New motor needs programming of:
Wheel circunference
Motor Angle
This has to be done by a Shop.
In Motor with older FW versions this could be done with Stunlocker Premium, but not sure of newer FW
I managed to pop out the piston of a Magura MT7, I popped it back in with a little wiggle and I re-bled it.
Two years later, the brake is still performing fine and without leakage. So do not worry.
eBike can switch battery and PowerMore ON and OFF using the CAN bus, so If battery and PowerMore are installed and fully charged, then ebike motor alternates them (switching ON/OFF) to drain 5% the electric energy from each of them, until both are depleted.
If one of them has a higher charge...
I am totally sure that I know what I am talking about, I greased pins of Shimano BT-E8010 battery, and after mounting it in the frame I got the E010 error, I wiped out the pins with a wet towel (wet with alcohol) and error dissappeared. So in this case, when the terminals contacted each other...
Dielectric greases are a type of lubricant specifically designed for electrical applications. These greases are typically formulated from silicone and primarily serve as a non-conductive barrier between electrical components.
Non-Conductive means that if you apply it in the male and female...
If the battery can be killed in a test, it probably may also suffer a "natural death" during a long ride, normally at the most remote location of the track. So if the test kills the battery, it is uncovering a battery issue and saving you the hassle.
Well, that's my opinion and I may be wrong.
I bought also the Moterra Neo 3, but I "transplanted" some components, donor was my previous bike, components are: Fork Fox 36 Factory Grip2, brakes Magura MT7. I also bought wheels DT Swiss 1700HX (Not yet mounted), and shock Fox Float X Factory from ebay USA. Now, it is perfect.
And yes, it...
Also check opinions about Motor brands: Shimano vs Bosch. There are a lot.
During 5 years I had a Shimano motor and 4 different Shimano batteries (This is a clue), and then I decided to switch brand and now I own a Cannondale Moterra with Bosch Motor, 750Wh battery, and soon a 250Wh Range...
