I have a DT Swiss rear HX1501 and front H1900 waiting to go on mine when it arrives. Will either sell the Bontragers on or put slicks on them (that I will likely never use)
Hmmmm, I have a 2018 Vitus E-Sommet and a Rail 9 on order. This is my concern, the Vitus is such a capable and fun bike that I'm worried the Trek might be faster but is going to be a fun sponge. I sat on an XL in the shop and had a pedal around and despite a lot of the geo being similar it felt...
Am I right in saying that the Super Deluxe Ultimate has a stroke limiting spacer that can be removed to give more rear wheel travel? Same as my old Trek Fuel Ex that I removed with tin snips.
If so how much travel does removing it give and do you need to run the flip chip in the high position...
@Rob Rides EMTB what's the seated position like on the 22? Everything else on the geo looks OK but the ett is 27mm shorter than the 21 XL. See you've gone to a 50mm stem to compensate a bit
It's got the Magura 200s on it but was planning to swap with the 220/200 centrelines that come with the Trek. No interest though so dropping the price but 2.8 is lowest I'll go, otherwise will hang onto it
Mate has them, they've really perfect up until he cased a big step up with a log edge, got unlucky as hit right on the join and wrote the rim off. He'd still recommend them though
I have the HX1501s and they've been faultless

How are you getting on with it @beans ? Any chance of a photo or two with the seat down and in the sunlight as well?
As you might be able to tell I'm waiting impatiently for mine!
Anyone know of stock of Schwalbe 29 2.6 Magic Marys or Big Bettys? After Soft compound, Supertrail Mary and Super Gravity Betty. Got a Trek Rail coming and want to change wheels and tyres straight away
Other options are going to 2.4s, can find the Mary but no Big Bettys at all. Prices aren't...
I have ordered an XL 9 from Blazing Bikes, should get it week after next. Was going to jog on the Sram but a mate with a 21 9 ,says he is running £50 ZTTO XD cassettes so might give it a go. Will be changing wheels, tyres, brakes, dropper, bars and stem before riding it though, will also be...
Agreed, that's a crap review. Fair enough a battery shouldn't be rattling around in any ebike frame, let alone from a brand as big as Trek on a bike that expensive but I'm sure it can be resolved.
I have just ordered a 22 Rail 9 GX and will change the tyres before I even ride it. Those two...
I was talking about changing the lot to Shimano. Will be changing the stock wheels for some DT Swiss with a HG freehub anyway so yeah, anyone want to buy a GX Eagle drivetrain?
Trek Rail just ordered has 12 speed GX Eagle. Nice as I'm sure it is I don't fancy paying £200 for a cassette, considering selling it new and replacing with 11 speed Shimano SLX/XT. Thoughts or experience with 12 speed SRAM?
Edit say just seen the Cassette Life thread....
I had that too, on my 2017 Fuel ex. Unfortunately on a day at a bike park in the Austrian Alps, which was a bit of a bummer!
Good to see Trek haven't learnt much about the basics in the last 5 years.....
