30 years mtb, 1 year emtb. Emtb was the best thing ever and was the pivot point I needed to go full moto. Sold the emtb and don’t ride the acoustic bike barely at all. Dirtbike gets ridden 5 days a week. No regrets!!!!?
I hear ya on pricing. My brand new Kawi cost 1500.00 less than my emtb and with dirtbikes you get so much more!!!! I went from decades of acoustic mtb riding and racing to the last year on an emtb and now I’m riding a dirtbike and the emtb is for sale and the acoustic mtb has been ridden once...
3800 miles on my bmc speedfox amp this year till the e8000 motor failed a few weeks ago. The acoustic bike has seen a lot of use since then. Should get the bmc back with new motor in the next week or two.
I blew my e8000 at 3800 miles a week ago. A good run I’d say. Now I wait. Having the fork and rear shock serviced while I’m at it. Neither have been touched since new.
Mine started making a cracking noise this am on the 1st 15 mile ride, then became unbearable 4 hours later during my lunch break 15 miler. Both rides involve steep techy climbing.
I hear you both. Kona realizes now that not going 630 would turn off some folks, and understandably so. I do know that a lot of remote 160 riders do go with a second battery for big vert long rides. I will happily go this route. I definitely see the allure of wanting and demanding 630 for sure
504 keeps the bike lighter and 504 is plenty for most working folk or family men/women. 630 ain’t getting you epic. You want to go epic just buy and carry a second 504wh with ya.
Welp just got in from a ride on my e8000 equipped BMC and man o man what a brilliant motor after all these hard miles. Trail mode is just brilliant, intuitive, seamless.❤️
Knut seemed to like the e7000 very much when he rode it. Was just reading a post from 2019 where he said he liked it better than the Bosch cx on trails.
