Levo Gen 3 Levo vs Rail -2023

I am a moto guy and really like riding E-MTB's. I have a '21 Trek Rail 9.7 and '22 Specialized Levo Expert. Both great bikes. The Rail has the smaller 625Wh battery and with 29's rolls so well...I call it my E-MTB that feels the most acoustic like. The Levo is more "moto" feeling with the...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 9.7

2021 Trek Rail 9.7 vs 2022 Specialized Levo Expert back to back. I let my buddy George (Vet moto rider and E-MTB rider), Nick (Vet moto rider, long time MTB rider), Dave (Vet moto rider, E-MTB rider, and former F-16 fighter pilot), and my son Chase (fast moto rider, E-MTB rider) all ride both...

    Fazua Ride 60 Test

"From Rob: There is a lot of marketing about the Ride 60 being 450 watts. But in reality it’s a peak of 350 watts for most the riding (99% of the time), with the Boost feature giving an extra 100 watts only for 12 seconds, activated by holding up on a few seconds on the remote." So the new 60...

    Fazua Ride 60 Test

Local Trek store has a 2021 Domane LT+ with the Fazua 50 motor/battery system. There is a motor spec plate on the rear chain stay that indicates Power: 250W, Peak Power: 400W, Max Torque: 60Nm. These peak numbers seem similar to the new Fazua 60 system....

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

I got a total right hip replacement 8 weeks ago and just got the go ahead from my doctor to start riding again! I've been out (3) times so far and got in 11 miles yesterday on my Intense Tazer MX Pro. Rode full Turbo the whole time and only used 2 bars of battery charge - range indicating...

Levo Gen 3 Brand Levo Expert 2022 - Painting defect?

My '22 Levo Expert in black is similar - can see the carbon layup under portions of the paint.

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 9.7

I posted this review of my '21 Trek Rail 9.7 while I was recovering from a full right hip replacement. Got the OK to get back on the bicycle (and motorcycle) again from my surgeon so I did my first ride on my new hip this past weekend. Felt so good to be back on the bike again! I have been...

Mission Control MC 3.0.0 “Trying to get location”

I found similar issue on this week with my '22 Levo Expert. Updated the firmware and during my first ride it showed the map but after I ended the ride the thumbnail for the ride is there but when I click on the ride the "trying to get location" shows up. If I click on previous rides (done...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 9.7

The Bike: Manufacturer: Trek Model: Rail 9.7 Model Year: 2021 Price Paid: $8049 New/Used: Brand New Score (out of 10): 9 Review: Picked up a new 2021 Trek Rail 9.7 at the Trek Factory store in Dublin, Ohio (Thanks Matt!). I am coming off a 2021 Trek Rail 7 (size large) that I picked up...

    Review 2021 Intense Tazer Expert

From my perspective the Ohlins spring rear shock is really good and is noticeable (as are dual crown Ohlins forks but they do limit turning radius and add weight). The EP8 motor extra torque adds about 1~2 mph in climbing speed (I would climb the same hill at 6~7 mph on the Shimano 7000...

    Review 2021 Intense Tazer Expert

I rode my Tazer Expert again this week after riding my other more powerful motor e-MTB's ('22 Levo with Brose 2.2, '21 Trek Rail with Bosch, and my buddy's new '22 Transition Repeater with EP8 all 85~90Nm peak torque). The Tazer Expert's Shimano 7000 60Nm motor still provides decent torque with...

    Transition

Thanks to my buddy Chase (who just bought this bike) I got a quick ride yesterday on the all new 2022 Transition Repeater e-MTB.....electric GiddyUp!! This was my first ride on a Transition MTB. This was the GX Carbon model (MSRP $9499 USD) in size large. I regularly ride a '22 Levo Expert...

    Review 2021 Intense Tazer Expert

Rode my Tazer Expert last week at Horns Hill in Newark, Ohio. Took my Tazer MX Pro there also last week. Fun to ride the Tazer Expert and MX Pro on the same trails. The Tazer Expert felt a little lighter (mostly at the handlebars) probably because it has the Fox 38 forks vs the dual crown...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 7

YZ250 is a great moto/woods bike! You get my "moto" comments about these E-MTB's. Tazer MX Pro is full on moto feeling. For me these E-MTB's are as fun to ride as going moto'ing and a great workout too. The ease of just jumping on the E-MTB and going riding is appealing (loading up all the...

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

Being a moto guy the Tazer MX Pro just "feels" right. Even on unfamiliar trails I just feel confident and the bike is fun to ride. The Ohlins suspension makes all the trail junk disappear. The dual crown forks do limit turning radius which is not a big deal on faster sections but I have run...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 7

Very different bikes! The Rail 7 feels more regular MTB like with quicker and more responsive handling and less planted feel, especially as the speeds increase. I become more accustomed to the Rail 7 after a few runs down the hill and I like the feel. I was actually switching between the Rail...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 7

Finally got my Rail 7 out on some new trails today (Horns Hill in Newark, Ohio). This bike is still the E-MTB that feels like an MTB....

Review 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro

First ride on my 2021 Intense Tazer MX Pro at on the Green Horn Trail at Horn's Hill in Newark, Ohio. Trails were perfect and so was the Tazer. This bike works so well for me coming off my moto bikes. The Renthal bars (40mm rise on this bike), ODI grips, Magura brakes, Ohlins dual crown DH38...

    Review 2021 Trek Rail 7

My 2021 Rail 7 is a size Large and from 2022 model year the Rail 7 comes with a 150mm dropper in the M/L/XL size frames. I am used to the 170mm droppers on my other bikes so the short dropper distance on my Rail 7 really stood out to me.
