Just to give you an idea, my coilover springs on my track car have seen 20,000+ miles and four years and they are in much better nick. That is just rubbish.
I'm not sure it's DHL express UK that sort out delivery. I have a feeling it's a subsidiary company, hence why the tracking stops and I was called by that random person on Friday afternoon. My DHL tracking still says Greenford, has the call to me listed and said received at terminal (whatever...
If it makes you feel any better mine wasn't delivered today. No contact or info so don't know when it's going to turn up. Hopefully it's tomorrow as I'm working on site the rest of the week and I doubt anyone will be there to take delivery.
Wow.... I'm going to check mine out of the box when it arrives to make sure it has grease in them.
My Cannondale has done nearly 3 years before needing the top rocker ones doing, the others are still fine. I don't use any cleaning solution on it though and I don't really jump it (not an easy...
I've used Stan's sealant and valves in my habit for about a year. Valves didn't seat that well initially, but do now. Run HR2s and a Shorty all tubeless ready and I have seepage out of one sidewall on one tyre (a known issue with some HR2).
Found I preferred the way the bike turned into corners...
I had a phonecall late yesterday afternoon from Europa shipping in behalf of DHL. Mine is being delivered on Monday from Greenford. No point trying to ring DHL express UK by the way, it's one of their subsidiaries and has a different tracking number. Customer service give you palletways number...
I tend to ride over in the forest of dean or Wye valley, but a fair bit of stuff locally to look at. Depends on when it comes and how quickly I get the protection vinyl on it.
DHL have a few different services so could be 24/48 or about a week - I used to send lots of stuff with them in my old job. They got a full engine on a pallet to Madrid in 16 hours once, cost more than £35 mind!
Anyway order has moved on to being prepared, so that's nice.
Yesterday they told me they were swapping the brakes over (also what was said on Friday morning, by the way) and the website tracking thing hasn't changed either from 'confirmed'.
Cool though, hope it's all there and let us know what you think!
And yes I know it's early days yet. So far my bike buying experiences have all been pretty bad - the Habit was a pain and that was bought 4 miles away from Evans!
I just don't trust them yet. And telling me the exact same thing Friday and then Tuesday doesn't help. I'm just concerned that brexit will start messing up stuff in a few weeks time and I don't want to wait ages and/or have to pay import duty
It's not a great look for a company when you are nervous about buying from them. I'm really not enjoying the experience at the moment and feel I should have just bought a Santa Cruz Bronson instead...
Something to bear in mind is that it'll take longer to deliver than the website suggests. The order tracking system doesn't take swapping the brake levers over into account. The customer service chat thing online can tell you exactly how far it's got though. So far so good.
I've gone for large. I'm 6ft but have pretty long arms and legs. My Cannondale reach wasn't long enough as standard in a large so I based it on that. Figured I could always change the stem etc if necessary.
Anyway I'm doing DC's patrol tomorrow with one of their kits so I'll see if it's actually worth it. I have some paint protection film in work so can do the obvious parts.
