Remove the factory grease with a foaming chain cleaner. Do this by foaming-up a cloth or preferably a sponge, hold it in your hand and wrap it around the chain then run the chain through by turning a pedal. Wait ten minutes then wash it all off. (Do this every time you re-lube thereafter)...
