...for a new battery that is a year old?
Pretty sure the lithium ion cells degrade even with use which means the 504 watt hour rating should be lower, right?
So it happened again today after a lazy ride using boost all the way up climbs. I felt the battery and it wasn’t hot at all. Then i felt the motor and there was definitely some heat but I wouldn’t call it over the top.
So if it is the temperature sensor shutting it down, should i see a W010...
I crash a lot haha so I can’t remember but I’ll try checking the cables. It has only happened after riding for a long time and climbing around 800 metres so I thought maybe the motor is getting hot. If that is the cause then I’ll be screwed in summer when it’s 35 degrees every day.
Is your battery internal or external ?
External
What air temp when riding ?
25 degrees C
Is it very bumpy when it shuts off ?
Not really
What is the battery level when it shuts off ?
40-60%
What assist mode are you using when it shuts off ?
Trail
Hey,
The last few rides I have been getting unexpected shut downs of the motor. It's usually after about an hour and a half of riding. It boots back up and then sometimes shuts down again quickly. Usually it comes good though.
Is it from heat maybe? Or something else, should I be worried...
if i look at the range when it's on 2 bars it'll say something like 15kms and then it suddenly cuts out and when i turn it back on it's red. crappy system
Does anyone with an e8000 had success connecting their garmin edge 530?
The can’t get a successful connection and read somewhere you need a special cable.
The first bar on mine seems to go a bit quicker than out of the box even though I've only done about 1000kms.
I know range is dependent on many many factors but I get just over 1000 metres of climbing from a full charge in bike park conditions. The main climbs I do are 2016 world cup XC climbs.
yeah mine is a pita as well. i have to be very patient as i always take the battery out for charging and keep it stored inside. i tried wd40 but i still have to jiggle the key a fair bit to get it to comply.
Surely one day some rich dude will test this in the courts somewhere eventually. It's not illegal to derestrict on private land plus there are sometimes legitimate reasons to derestrict, like big jumps with short run ins.
wow, i totally forgot about this thread.
the main benefit with my bike derestiction is in the commute home from trails (mainly home because i ride to the tracks with motor off) and i only sit on 30-35kph anyway
BUT it is also helpful on a few trails where you come down a steep descent and need...
Who knows? What i read (probably here) is that all warranty jobs have some sort of diagnostics from the motors usage sent to shimano. It’s probably bullshit but I’d be interested to know. Surely dealers could answer the question
Did the magnet on the pedals for 10kms until it threw an error. Then bought a badass doover. It’s cool because you just move the magnet an inch or two to switch from restricted to derestricted.
