Yes, I’m hopping higher now I’ve been on the eBike for 3-4 months. I’m definitely guilty of not practicing specific skills, I used to just go out and smash trails and a few jumps. Since getting the eBike, for one reason or another, I’m playing about more, cutties, wheelies, jumping, sessioning...
I can bunny hop my 13kg trail bike quite a bit higher, it’s seems to me fairly obvious that would happen! I’m now hopping obstacles I would previously avoid or roll. I’m sure if you’re already well versed at them it won’t make a difference, but mine have significantly improved along with...
I think people were commenting on the benefits they’ve experienced, not the ones you agree with ?
My MTB skills have greatly improved since getting my eBike, largely because I’m riding more (thanks to my eBike) but I’m also able to bunny hop a hell of a lot higher due to 4 months of riding a...
It’s just a number. Personally I think 500wh is fine and I’ve never been left out when people are riding with 700wh. Having said that I’m in the UK so I’m not doing any big mountain accents.
I don’t think anything is exactly “new age” right now, there’s just loads of amazing bikes to choose from.
My eBike has got me riding loads more and enjoying my MTB even more, I really appreciate the nuances of each bike.
I get on my trail bike and I’m now so much more in control after managing the weight of my eBike, it feels ridiculously fun and playful.
Jumping on my eBike and I can ride up...
I also like that most of the direct to consumer manufacturers are “boutique brands”, small number of employees, specifically focused on gravity bikes, owned and run by riders.
I’ve got a 2016 YT Jeffsy and a Commercial Meta Power, both great bikes and don’t have any regrets. Just pulled the trigger on the new Jeffsy, it will be my 3rd direct to consumer bike.
My eBike got me out riding significantly more, from 50-100km per month to 500km, and reignited my passion for MTB. I’ve not lost much weight but I’ve swapped a load of fat for muscle.
Due to the increase in riding my skills have also significantly improved and I’m now tackling features and...
Yeah I like that ?
I wonder when we will see a slightly bigger battery from Shimano... my external setup is great for cycling 2 batteries but the internal versions look like a bit more hassle.
They’ve got the new Shimano internal battery but the down tube still looks pretty hefty compared to something like a Commencal. I do like their bikes though ?
The direct to consumer brands spend millions with these manufacturers so they usually do a good job of keeping the consumer happy... it’s nothing new..
Freight costs, clearly that’s one of the sacrifices for saving thousands when using a direct to consumer brand, a few quid on freight... If...
This problem is rife across Fox and Rockshox, not good!
I have now noticed the old Pikes on my 140mm trail bike have it, but you don’t hear it riding or jumping, you have bump the front wheel to get a slight creak, but it’s not really a problem.
The noise on my eBike is like cracking glass...
It was the fork steerer/crown, confirmed by Silverfish (UK Fox Service Center). Only problem is they’re eBike specific forks and the parts will take 5 weeks, so it’s creaky forks for the time being ?
Some people are new to the MTB world.... This is not a mass produced car, it’s a direct to consumer high performance eBike.... It’s quite common to whip off a component and send it to the OEM (or the local service centre) for a replacement, similar to what your shop will do... it’s the price a...
