I think this is the one. He does another where he does a direct comparison to the Fuel EXE too.
I first started reading his reviews when he was doing night light outputs etc. He tries to be fairly consitstent/scientific.
I also wonder if there was a software upgrade on the KSL over the Gen 1...
I’ll try and do what you have asked over the next week.
I would try and contact Francois on MTBR though. His figures can’t really lie as far as I can tell and it’s possible that he has other data that he can share. He tested in full turbo. He’s also one of the testers that I trust to be...
I can try. I don’t ride in turbo normally though and I only generally use Mission Control for settings pre ride. When I first turned my frameset on I had to take it to a shop for plug in software update. Maybe some are behind and need some more updates. If some bikes aren’t getting full power...
I’m hoping they can iron it out with a software upgrade. I can ride in a way to almost eliminate it(change under power as I have AXS gears and also stop pedalling abruptly) but it seems an unnecessary noise. It’s worse in ECO levels which doesn’t add up with the extra power being the reason...
My regular quick loop that’s 13 miles, but only 1300feet of climbing uses 40% battery on the Gen 2 in trail at 30/80.
My Gen 1 on the same loop used 37% set at 35/100 in Trail.
The Gen 2 feels more powerful at these settings
Gives you an idea at least.
I’ve been for a few more rides and as Rich-H says, this motor makes a few unexpected noises. Without doubt it’s significantly quieter than the Gen 1 when working the motor in all modes. I’d say that when cruising along on the Gen 1, the noise is like when working the Gen 2 hard. There are...
Thanks.
I had the reply from the LBS and Specialized confirmed it’s normal. The disengagement/engagement is more noticeable due to the quieter motor and extra power apparently. Riding style can also affect how much it’s heard.
As long as it’s normal I don’t mind. Would be better if it wasn’t...
This noise definitely wasn’t present on the Gen1. This new one is a lot quieter in every other scenerio so it makes this overrun noise so noticeable to me.
I agree though, what a bike! Got it dialled now so riding it properly. Same average heartrate than on my Epic Evo which is one of the...
Just been for another ride and it feels like there is a slight disengagement delay in the motor. My gut feeling is that it’s not quite right as even changing gear your get this whir inbetween. Didn’t happen on the Gen 1. It’s not every time I stop peddling or change gears but probably 40% of the...
I imagine that is the cadence. My road is a gateway to the trails and hundreds of E-bikes come past every weekend.
The only bike that I couldn’t hear was the Trek EXE. The rest I can always hear. Lower cadence and fat blokes will always be quieter😂
Does anyone get an audible motor disengagement noise. Usually when you stop peddling and between gear changes?
It’s like a whir that’s much noise than the normal motor operation. Lasts less than a second
That’s crap!!
The rockshox/Sid stuff on my SW Epic Evo has been immense. Maybe see what fits.
The Fox on my 21 Levo SL held up well. QC can’t be good enough though
I was intending to use Slik. Getting any response from their customer services is painful though.
Two emails sent and no response. I couldn’t find the frame decal on the site. Doesn’t help that nearly every S-Works bike has a different size logo, sometimes even size specific.
I got them here. S-Works - kit adesivi telaio.
Yeah, they are stuck over the top of the black originals. When they arrived I found it better to cut the letters off individually and apply them one by one as it means they fit better. Not sure he does metallic blue though. Arrived in 5 days from...
