Well, local Specialized (Czech-Slovak) said that my bike was derestricted (it wasn't) based on power consumption. I ride only in Turbo and mainly in steep hills. It doesn't even make sense. Fortunately they sent the LBS a new motor but I'm not sure what will happen when it fails again.
I think that it is more a shock issue than a Levo issue. I've experienced something similar on my previous bike when I rode it in freezing temperatures. It had the auto-sag feature and I had to pump it to 300 psi and then auto-sag it when that happend. Otherwise it was just locked in the middle...
Oh man, that sucks!
I was thinking about buying a SC Bullit, but I love the range and power of my Levo. Also the bike is pretty much great, just its motor sucks :(.
So, after three weeks I have the bike back with a 3rd motor. According to the serial number it looks that it was manufactured in July 2020 (the 2nd motor was manufactured in June 2020). I don't have high hopes for it. I don't think that they fixed motor issues.
Specialized "diagnosed" my motor...
I've been riding SPD for 10 years and then switched to flats to improve my technique. This year, after 4 and half years on flats I'm again on SPDs on my e-bike and still on flats on my dirt bike. Both platforms have their pros and cons.
I had a replacement motor manufactured on June 22nd, 2020 (I presume that it is the same one as in 2021 models) and it failed recently. I'm waiting for a 3rd motor now. I ride mainly in Turbo and on climbs.
Thanks for this topic @IainF!
I was thinking about switching from Specialized Levo to SC Bullit, but I was afraid that range on Bullit with EP8 would be too small for me. 95% of my rides, I ride solely in Turbo mode and I'm all about downhill and making as many downhill laps as quicky as...
Well, I did not open the motor, so I can't be sure. But the motor is spinning and the the cranks are not moving. Also, the rear wheel can't spin backwards. This is exactly what happened with the first motor after ~ 380 km.
What do you mean by pedal strikes? I'm not a native speaker, but if you mean hits against rocks, etc. then there were none. But I jump a lot and ride in every conditions.
My 2nd motor failed this week. It was manufactured in June 2020 and it lasted for 1918km. Same issue as the first one (broken belt). I ride only in Turbo and mainly in hills.
Thanks for the info.
I ride a Levo at the moment (well, I will be when they replace the 2nd motor which failed recently) and I'm thinking about switching to the Bullit. However, from what I read here, I get an impression that the Bullit with EP8 and a 630wh battery has smaller range than my...
