Installed a dropper on my new Orbea Urrun. I’m used to dropping motor on my Rail so no problems there. Headset cable routing means tight fit and bends through headset, head tube and into down tube, once everything strapped in the outer wasn’t going to move. I ended up with too much outer at...
NorCal (Marin) rider. Tubeless 17/21 on my Rail, bike plus me plus pack = 285ish. Tires are 2.8/2.6. Most of my rides are a mile or two of pavement to the trailhead. There are some rides that are 8-10 miles of pavement, for those long pavement rides if I remember to I’ll pump up to 25/30...
Freshly-installed dropper (that was a job), cockpit organized to my suit my ocd tendencies, first proper ride up the backyard mountain
A ways to go yet
Much different ride than my Rail!
Thanks for this. To be clear, in my case I have a SW-EN600-L thumb switch that came my my Urrun, and right away added the SC-EN600 display (which has no buttons). I have no idea what the center button on the switch does when you don’t have the SC-EN600 display, but with the display attached...
I just received my '23 Urrun in XL and though the Blue Paper lists a spinblock, mine doesn't have one ... dodged a bullet? Prior to cockpit adjustments the brake levers were turned down enough to make contact with the top tube but not now. The fork of course clear the down tube.
I removed...
Upgraded raffle prize (threw in some cash instead of taking a gazelle commuter). I've already got a Trek Rail so was looking for something that could double as an urban bike. It was the last '23 XL in stock. Immediate upgrades were an SC-EN600 display, range extender (since I intend to set up...
orbea’s electric HT is the Urrun. Their lowest-trim model (Urrun 40) should be within budget, more so if you can find a ‘23 model. It has a shimano Ep600 (models 30 and 10 have the ep801) that has been de-tuned to limit it to 60nm and lower watt output. Can be overridden via SW to allow...
I’m wondering about similar effort, to install a dropper cable without pulling motor/battery: feed cable (from cable pulling kit, with magnet to help it along) from head tube through downtube then use a telescoping magnet ‘wand’ to fetch it up the seat tube, then attach outer at the head tube...
Thanks. Looks pretty clean and presumably less a PITA that the stock puzzle set. Where’s the wire from the thumb switch?
Have you ever pulled a cable through downtube? My Urrun doesn’t a dropper; I’ve got one in hand to install, wondering if the space between the top of the battery and...
I hyperextended my thumb crashing after a bee flew into my mouth and stung me - I stopped paying attention while scraping the stinger out of the roof of my mouth. It took a long time to heal (a side effect of being in your 60’s) so I got a grip shift, got me back on the bike, but I was happy...
Resurrecting this old thread - I’ve got a EP801-RS-powered Urrun arriving any day and intend to bump it to FF power/torque. I have the range extender as well as the PCE02 interface (and EN600 display) and eMax apps ready to go.
I like your 2-profile setup, that’s what I had in mind myself...
Ditto. It was the coming from the left side, definitely position-dependent, pedal at 10–11 (when facing non-drive-side). It didn’t require load on the pedal to cause it to click. I’m not sure if I also felt it in my foot or just an aural haptic effect. I made a video of it and showed it to...
Did you get this sorted? I don’t think you need any additional parts: the cable from the thumb switch is coupled to the cable that runs to the motor at the stem; replace the coupler with the display. Orbea’s Blue Book should have the details (it does for the Urrun).
Lucky raffle winner of an eMTB, getting a ‘23 Orbea Urrun 30, already have a ’21 Rail 5 which sports WTB Vigilante 2.8 front/Specialized Eliminator 2.6 rear. According to the spec sheet the Urrun comes with Maxxis Rekon 2.40" 120 TPI 3C MaxxTerra Exo+ TLR front and rear. Surfaces I ride...
