New tip: Yesterday I got my BR-MT520 delivered (more than 50 euro , maket is crazy) and followed the suggestion from @Funks. With M4x0.7 tap you can make a thread for the Shimano pad axle.
And here the new 4 piston caliper instaled with Shimano pad axle and snap retainer used in SLX and XT...
Thanks a lot Balticmoe!
I have ordered one Shimano MT520 caliper for the rear since I am afraid of removing the motor in the new bike, but I don't discard the Shigura in the front to make the test and expand later... even if it means a pads sacrifice to the trail gods...
I have finally ordered a BR-MT520 for the rear, to avoid fighting with the break hose, and due to prices, that have duplicated compared to 2020 when I bought a pair of SLX (7120) for my analog bike!!!
Cool!
What is your opinion on the "Shigura" brakes? Are they good? Is the Magura MT5 caliper requiring a banjo connection to the brake hose? I might go that route with mine replacing Shimano mt-br6100 calipers.
Good explanation Funks!
Thanks. Let's see what I am able to find with 4 pistons here at a reasonable price.
I had ordered already a banjo for BR-M7120 calipers, but I will widen my search for BR-M6120 / BR-MT520 too!
Thank you Funks.
I am actually comparing BR-M6100 calipers that came in my H15 with my previous BR-M7120. So I am considering (apart from the 203mm brake rotor that I upgraded in the front already), to chage calipers. The 3 options I am considering are: BR-M6120, BR-M7120 and Magura M5. That is...
I am missing my analog bike SLX BR-M7120 calipers in the Rise.
Has anyone pulled the 6100 calipers off and replaced with Magura MT7 or MT5 calipers? I have read good things from "Shigura" brakes, but I am not sure what calipers to buy.
And now another simple tip: this time to protect the power button from dust and water.
Just used some spare piece of bike frame protection transparent film (bike shield in my case), and sticked it over the power button area.
Cheap, fast, effective and available to everyone!
I hope you like it...
Mine doesn't have the "Shimano" word on it, so I assume it will be a Chosen Hub
Does anyone know if pawls or pieces from Shimano can be interchanged / used to repair the "Chosen" without having to throw away the full wheel in case it fails? Or are they completely different animals?
I have H15 (similar setup) but with air pump attached to bottle cage screws and that rises the set a bit, worsening clearance. I have spent 40 € on Blackburn clutch bottle cage with 30mm vertical adjustment, and I get bottle cage a bit lower, but the clearance didn't really improve much as I...
Distance between screws is probably standard. From that perspective yo will probably be able to install it. The problem might come if you want to use a larger bottle and you have an H15 with Float X rear shock. At least that is my problem and I am trying to find a vertical adjustable bottle cage...
You need to close it as soon as you pull charging cable out. If you leave it open and go to do something else, you have high chances to forget it open.
I have rode couple of times with it and it is preventing a lot of dust to come into there.
If it doesn't stay in place, cut a slightly narrower ring. No glue needed :)
Hi everyone.
I got my brand new Rise H15 around 3 weeks ago. My first e-bike. :p
I am coming from a Stumpjumper that I still own although everyone is telling me I will end up selling it during next weeks.
And I am enjoying it a lot!
But this post is also to bring my first tip in case it is...
