Being a Kona Process 153 rider will be keen Hear what the bike is like
My ebike is a Focus Sam2 but would have tested the remote ctrl if it had been available at the time
I didn’t notice a difference between the 170mm yari on my focus, vs 160mm Yari on Kona process. But did notice changes when i changed number tokens .
Then I fitted the charger damper upgrade you mention on the 170mm focus , then a noticeable difference, the fork was more composed, and it...
One of the damper seals on my Sam2 yari fork motion control damper failed in december
And oil filled the lower leg of then fork , hydrolocking it. On the ride I had tools and shock pump so was able to drain the oil And continue ride with no fork dampening.
Not sure it was the inner or outer seal...
The bearings I removed from frame definitely had 3801-RD stamped on the side (RD not RS) , I triple checked, because I couldn’t find them online,
In the end I got these:
63801-2RS-MAX (63801-VRS)
dimensions were identical
I got these first, but they were too wide : 3801-2RS-MAX (3801-VRS)
So...
This years model, 2019. It’s a great bike and I like flexibility’s of lighter bike with 378wh and TEC pack for longer rides.
Good handling bike, and handles gnarly trails well and big Scottish mountain days too.
Had issues with a snapped shock bolt, but think this isn’t resolved now after L S...
I’ve got a Kona process 153 29er and it’s a great bike,
I bought it this year to replace a 15yr old Kona Dawg
but my focus Sam2 easier on the uphills :)
Also got a 1997 kona Cindercone, so deff a kona fan
Would have be prob tried the Kona remote 160 if it had existed when I was ebike shopping...
My wife’s Jam2 is nearly a year old and done about 1100km, I reckon I borrowed it for 250km :) then trashed rear mech and hanger on it so was banned!
No other issues or parts replaced. I need to check chain wear and about to do
50 hr service on forks and rear shock
Got my Sam2 In March, that’s...
Dismantled the Sam2 today, the bearings are notchy and gritty feeling so time for new ones
I noted the bearing numbers and have ordered new ones from an online bearing shop
Here they are:
6901VRS x4
3801RD x2. (I bought and fitted 63801-2RS-MAX (63801-VRS) after first buying 3801VRS but these...
That’s a great diagram, thanks for sharing. Good to have all the part numbers
REckon it will Be much better value buying bearings from bearing shop than focus though...
Thanks , yeah did that’s with my old Kona In the past, easier as you could see most of bearing codes without too much dismantling. And I made mistake of getting cheap bearings for it once, they didn’t last long...
Anyone know of anywhere you can buy suspension frame pivot bearing kits, or the bearing numbers, for a 2019 Sam2 ?
Kits available for most other brands of bike when I looked but not focus
So maybe a dealer only option
And anyone replaced any ?
