Stu I weigh 75kg 30 psi in the butcher sounds high to me.
my bike is the 2018 Comp carbon if that means anything Rock Shock front & rear, I think they started out with 110 p.s.i air spring pressure in forks, was way too hard. now have 30 p.s.i in forks.
in front tyre 2.8" butcher I would run 20...
STU - K , I had same problem ( harsh ride ). my shop set it to the info they have.
but on hard down hill with lot of rocks & bumps, my front wheel seemed to be bouncing. so back to LBS they seemed to be worried if set softer it would bottom out. but I just kept going back asking to take 10psi...
Hi Tory, I have two 504 battery's , but have never carried a spare as yet. I think I could get 80k from one charge with no problem. & think I could extent that distance by, setting eco % to almost zero taking out % of engine ( like total of engine is 100% as they come ) & only using motor for...
hey thank's for that I might try that, but the girl's at LBS are keen to fine tune and set up for me. they did say what they would do, but I was not paying much attention. will be interesting to see what feels like after there next set up, then will get a pump.
I'll tell you one thing I forgot...
Great write up! I enjoyed it!!
I'm a comp carbon man so will have to test an S Works.
but I'm 11stone, hey on another note you need to weigh it with you on it!!
cheers
Hi Ryder, yes, you read it right. you see the LBS did not have a lot of experience with setting up the forks. & the information they got. told them what pressure I needed for my weight. but it was rock hard I was forced to ride slower down hill. but I was not buying a pump as how I see it. once...
my tyres flex, but I'm used to it and I get traction, so happy. personally I have more weight on the rear tyre. when I first got the bike the LBS had set up forks too hard, I was experiencing front tyre bounce over rough fast down hill, thats when I went to the 27.5 X 3.0 & dropped front tyre...
Well I know it will depend more on the tyre your using and , your weight & terrain your riding over.
I have ridden my levo comp carbon close to 3,000km now .
I ride over rocks, sand dirt & dusty tracks, very rare through mud but I have. I'm 11 stone. this is my second levo, my first was 2016 HT...
From experience with Dyno's & riding & racing motor bikes. the only chart we need to look at is the Torque curve, as with MC's that is all I really feel, the power I can't really feel that it mostly shows up in higher speed ( I can feel the speed!! but the torque is what you feel being thrust...
went for a ride about 20km ( lot of hill's) then along beach. winter just started here. but not too cold about 19c. hope you are all enjoying summer in northern Hemp!
the first levo I had 2016 HT had a short chain stay, and when I road fast over very rough ground the chain came off it was a problem. I see my new 2018 levo FSR has a longer chain stay and have never had chain come off over rough down hill. so I like them so ask your LBS why non fitted.
I like the 36, I seem faster, I also get more use out of the stock gears, before with stock 32 I was always in the small half of rear cassette , not I get to use every gear more often .
but I suppose what suits riding style like one does not fit all .
I went from the stock 32 to a 36, but LBS did job, need a puller & id changing from stock size need a new set of bolts & nuts, as stock thread into sprocket. the replacement I used did not have thread in sprocket. I think you could possibly go as large as a 38. unless you want to go smaller.
the iPhone works fine but have not got a mount for bar for it. just goes in my pocket. I will need more time to go though data field on Garmin edge 520, Fenix watch works great but, m8 when I'm flat out on levo I can't look at a watch.
been busy up Sydney cheers
hope all good there
Nice, my LBS had a new Merida ?? HT Shimano e motor. felt light too.
I ride with a group that ride fast. I have a Specilized levo FSR. but a lot of the fast riders prefer HT.
how is the bike going?
