Well having thrown all my "aunt sally" potential objections out there and having read all the replies I have now ordered the Hope 155m cranks.
Why Hope? If I am going to try shorter cranks I eventually thought it best to try 155mm and finding any alternative at that size with assurance the Q...
To save you searching, my solution was to remove the TCU and wrap it with insulating tape being sure to also seal the area where the tail cables enter the back of it. I then also wrapped the the 2 connectors on those cable tails with amalgamating tape. Lastly I made a 1mm neoprene gasket to sit...
to be fair there have always been multiple reports of issues with Gopros but the vast majority have been due to user error or bad micro SD cards. The market is flooded with fake micro SD cards, especially the high capacity ones, so always buy from a reliable source and test them before use. Sd...
Interesting article but obviously mostly about road cycling. Something similar but focused on emtbs would be good. We have lower bbs, a motor, and when seated adopt a more upright position on the bike.......many of us also spend a lot of time standing on the platform provided by the cranks. So...
I am happy you are pleased with the change you made but that may not be the case on a different bike. A 5mm reduction in crank length translates to a reduction the circle circumference they create of over 31mm, meanwhile your leg length is not part of the lever.........only your leg extension...
The most important things to protect are your head, back and sternum ( or rather what it protects!). Armour is always a trade off between protection on the one hand, and comfort/heat management on the other. I always wear knee pads regardless of terrain or temperature. For rocky terrain I use...
I do the same as you except I use Trailforks to find routes then export the gpx to Komoot. I use wireless mini ear phones to get instructions and only refer to the phone if things get confused/ I go off route. I am hoping at some stage navigation is released on the Bosch Smart Kiox 300/Flow app.
I use the Hero 7. I have used Gopros for years starting when they were only SD quality. I saw nothing to persuade me to upgrade when the 8 was released...or indeed subsequent models. The 7 is when Gopro started to have good video stabilisation and also superview which is the best setting for...
Consider the difference a longer bar makes to loosening a bolt....ie rotating it. The longer the lever the less effort you have to apply. The shorter the lever the more effort. It is the same with a crank. The longer it is the less rider input is required to turn the chainwheel in any given...
I think it is more likely the amount of time from manufacture, that a fork lays in its box or fitted to a bike...in a box.... possibly for months in a variety of different temperature zones........without actually being used........that means a new fork could need fresh oil and/or grease even...
I guess the Hope 155mm cranks have persuaded quite a few Whyte owners to change cranks....primarily to reduce pedal strikes.
I stopped getting pedal strikes on my E180 once I learned to read the trail but it still does mean having to put in half pedal rotations more than I would like......so I...
Curious to know how you guys have set up the Fox 38 on the E160 RSX. I initially set it up similar to my E180RS and whilst it provided good support it was far too harsh. I have set it up from scratch now and it is now as plush as my e180 with good ramp up.
I have not checked to see how many...
I would not use water of indeed any fluid. If the stickyness is due to dust ingress between the buttons and the body of the Purion maybe the best option is use a semi stiff brush...something like a tooth brush... to see if that will clean out in the gaps. Alternatively an air compressor may help...
It may be worth starting from scratch with the tuning. You could also try "burping" the fork which may tell you something about a potential problem....( burping is carefully inserting something like the end of a zip tie between the stanchion and seal on the airspring side, to see if that...
