I misspoke and you are correct about the ep8 upgrade kits. Not sure if the cost would be worth it though, plus the availability thing. At any rate, i still would choose the model option with the ep8 and then upgrade components as they wear.

I found an Orbea Wild somewhat locally. My LBS did have some but not the spec I wanted. Placed the order last night and it should be here early next week. Fwiw, my 100% refund from Commencal appeared this morning.

You can update the wheels later if you want (and the other bits) but you cannot update the motor. So i would go with the newer model.
