Is your noise similar to a cable slapping the frame? This is what mine sounds like.
I believe its the battery compartment as it seems to come from this area.
Also if I grab the frame a push the battery hard into it's recess while riding the noise appears to stop, however I can't reproduce while...
I've noticed a clicking sound that I think comes from the battery compartment on my Trek Powerfly.
Today I wrapped a cable tie around it to try and eliminate the sound and it seemed to work for a few miles - going to try something similar to what you've done tomorrow.
Thanks Indigo - I've checked and I do have an HG chain (fitted correctly) and HG cassette so it should work.
Now I know it's designed to shift under load I will do some more deliberate shifts to see how it goes. Well I will if this torrent of rain ever stops.
I have the SLX 10-51 12 speed cassette and XT derailleur but as it's my first emtb I've nothing to compare it to.
It doesn't seem shifting under load is a feature - I've only done it occasionally by accident and it doesn't feel good and clonks as you would expect.

Picked up my new 2020 Powerfly 7 on Saturday and the motor noise is very low to my ears.
I must caveat that with the fact I'm totally new to ebikes and haven't heard the previous generation irl only on YouTube, so just a subjective opinion. The wind noise above 20 kph was much louder than the bike.
Bike collected today (and paid for - ouch!) I was set up and out the lbs door in no time.
It was just like riding a bike and as my muscles remembered their younger days I was feeling pleased with myself and totally blown away with my new toy.
I rode 30 km through bike paths, parks and along...
Hello forum from Warwick UK.
I'll be picking up my new Trek Powerfly 7 hardtail tomorrow morning.
Somewhat nervous as I've not owned a bike since I was 15 years old back in 1985.
However, I'm really looking forward to getting out and about with a little helping hand from Bosch.
