    32kph for Australia

when was the last time any Government increased any speed limit...assisted or not? The only potential incentive is to increase demand for ebikes in general as a partial replacement for other forms of transport but since the majority of ebike use is in an urban environment any speed increase is...

    Let’s talk crank arm lengths…

what I was saying was that shorter cranks made it easier to crank..........not that is was a problem or reason for changing to shorter cranks but a nice by product I noticed when I changed the cranks to 155mm

    Home Batteries / Solar

just a few other considerations..........fire hazard, insurance, effect of temperature on batteries ( high and low)......possible H and S testing and authorisation. Personally, I think efficient insulation is the answer to energy cost management, plus maximum use of LED lighting and observance...

What will be your next emtb? Lightweight or full fat?

mmmm.....smaller battery, lighter duty components/tyres etc, less powerful motors.........................Half fat=half price?.........Ah thought not!! Full power and max strength, max stability, mountain goat climbing, enduro capable for me.

Kenevo Gen1 Motor Replacement, Pairing Required?

    belt tension adjuster??

    chip detectable after removing?

With Gen 2 bosch system, if it did not put the motor into crawl mode when the chip was in use I doubt there is any data to prove it was used in the past. Gen 3 ( Bosch Smart System) could well be different given the significantly extra data capture capability it has compared to Gen 2. It would...

Kenevo Gen1 Motor Replacement, Pairing Required?

I think the things that are most likely to damage the belt are hard pedal strikes and hard landings from jumps or drops.

    Go faster without a chip

pedal faster , like any bike.

    Let’s talk crank arm lengths…

It obviously depeds to a degree on what sort of mountain biking you do. I mostly drive to the trails so virtually all my riding is offroad and Never have my dropper fully extended. Downhill or on fast single track I am stood on the pedals so actually spend very little time sat in the saddle...

    eMTB specific tyres

try inflating to a higher pressure for the ride to the trials and then deflate to taste when on the trails.................re inflate when you finish.

    Flat Pedal Shoes

5-10s...............originally made by 5-10, now Adidas..........both shoes designers/manufacturers. Scott? Stamp? Crank Bros...........shoe designers/manufacturers or brands?............. just sub contracted to someone? 5.10 Pro or Freeride always do the job.

    Let’s talk crank arm lengths…

Firstly there is little point comparing road bike geometry or use to mtb.............and EMTB also brings more differences to mtb. Designers look to keep centre of gravity low but also have to accomodate a motor where a much smaller profile BB would otherwise be. The crank length...invariably...

Dropper post clamp question on a Whyte e150rs

I recognise the term mostly as associated with flat panel welding clamps.........albeit they work in the opposite direction clamping upward rather than outward. I think the term relates to the mechanism that creates the clamp being internal as opposed to external..............could be wrong!

    Rail (625Wh) 2021 Rail 9.7 Suspension Question

Personally I would service and upgrade the Lyric. The Lyric is a great fork with the Debonair air spring. You would gain some front end stiffness with a Fox 38 which is also a geat fork, but at the expense of more weight and significantly more money. I doubt that would amount to value for money...

Rail (750Wh) It’s a great bike, but ultimately it’s flawed in one critical aspect

So here is how you do it!! Weigh yourself with riding kit on. Weigh you wife/girlfriend/partner. Now load one or more backpacks with the difference in weight and strap to your wife/girlfriend/partner and get her to sit on the bike or stand on the pedals ( the latter being the better position if...

EMTB power keeps cutting out an hour into my ride

maybe...................or................current flow always finds the path of least resistance. The combination of a poor connection at the main connector possibly due to oxidisation or lack of a firm male to female connection, plus some moisture ingress at that connection plug created either...

Chris Smith moving on from EMBN

One of the key benfits of a forum like this one is that you can identify brands/bikes that have problems. OK it is true that it is very easy to gain the wrong impression because those who encounter problems are far ore likely to post a bout it here than the ( probably) hundreds of others that do...

Dropper post clamp question on a Whyte e150rs

I dont know of any other brand that uses the intergrip clamp other than Whyte, and in fact Whyte has reverted back to the standard set post clamp now in their 2023 range. ( An intergrip clamp is fitted through the frame top tube or top tube to seat tube triangular piece, and the bolt at one...
