I have the 29 version decoy which I have not ridden yet but thinking I only need 160 up front. I am more of a FOX guy especially since I do not think Rockshox has any good rear shock offerings comparable to the X2 so leaning towards FOX.
I am debating between the older 2020 36 which can be had...
I love the idea of the stiffer chassis, I have a Decoy 29 which I wanted to upgrade to 160mm in front. I know the 36 is fine but want the 38. Not sure where I will end up but curious of those buying the 38 and why?
Trying to figure out the best way to get to the trail the fastest, not have to spend a ton of energy climbing.
I have a local trail that is about 8 miles away on flat paved path, once at the trail there are a few 2-3 mile loops with heavy climbing. I would then return back on the 8 mile path...
Thought it would be good for the new 29er to have a thread where people can post pictures of their 29er as well as modifications and tips they have made.
I just ordered a base 29er, was in heavy debate between the normal Comp and Pro 29 but coming from a Jeffsy I knew the less travel would be...
I can understand why they exist but wondering how necessary. I’m a average weight rider (165) and look at it that riders weighing 50lbs more than me are riding normal forks, is the EBike specific fork necessary for me?
I have always run tubeless on my all mountain, enduro/dh bikes and even with low pressure don’t seem to get many flats. I have never broken a wheel, I consider myself easy on wheels as I only weigh about 165lb.
I don’t do huge jumps, more flat flowy with some small kickers and stuff and some...
Awesome. Well please report back after your next ride, curious if you work those kinks out. I know I have heard people complain about riding on flat roads where the speed limiter cuts in and makes it hard to go fast
So I’m trying not to be way too over analytic but just noticing the Decoy 29 has a chaiBetsy length almost an inch longer than my normal Jeffsy 29.
I don’t expect the Decoy 29 to be extremely nimble but this worries me. Talk me off the ledge.
I will be swapping over my 760mm Carbon bars from my current Jeffsy. Also going to throw on my renthal 35mm stem although curious if it will be too short.
Also I hate how YT just throws 175mm cranks on every bike, that is something else I will need to swap. I usually run 170 but will most...
So one thing I am worried about is weight. Maybe coming from an analog bike it matters more but still think a lighter eBike would be nice.
With all the eBike parts like wheels being so heavy going to be hard to drop weight on this pig.
