Yeah I bet you’re right. It didn’t even say the year. It was on sale last December. I didn’t even know 11/6 made one for e-bike now. That’s awesome though. I’m assuming for any coil on an e-bike you need to run a higher Spring weight then normal? I’m having trouble narrowing that down right now.
Yeah I agree. I was just about to purchase an 11/6 when I found it for sale for $780 as opposed to the normal $1200. Not sure why it was on sale b/c they never are at ProBikeSupply. But anyway, I too was worried I wouldn’t have a clue what high v low end feels never using a coil. I just bought a...
Yeah I honestly thought I’d like the steeper seat angle b/c I have a jacked up back. And your right, it feels perfect on descents, when I don’t even notice the cramped feel. I think I got so used to and developed bad habits on my other ebike which has a 72.5 STA, 180m F/R. I can ride with the...
Ok I cut myself off. Anyway, on the TF tuned website, the spring calculator is asking for the wheel travel on the Decoy. Anyone happen to know number. Thx!
Yeah I’m still fairly new to this forum. I get message in my box and assume it’s for me lol. I was wondering why you mentioned Finland. I found a couple in the states where you can ship it too, but seems TF Tuned/Vorsprung seem to get mentioned constantly so I’d
I wasn’t really paying attention to the date. And regardless, if someone else comes across it I was just throwing out my experience. I’m guessing that’s part of why you also responded to a 10 months old post as well? Oh and I was being rhetorical about them exchanging my bike.. I know on the...
I would definitely consider doing a mullet set up. That is the Decoy’s saving grace for me anyway. Definitely update when you do. I may even have a Rail by then. Good luck!
Definitely look at the geo numbers and know your size. It was recommended I buy a size Large Decoy and based on that I’m now considering selling it. I thought it was me that needed to adjust to the bike. But I’ve never ridden a bike where my knees and wrist immediately hurt. I don’t know why YT...
Yes!! That’s exactly what I was trying to spit out in my long post about the way it feels lol. I actually planned on getting a medium, but was told by YT that it would be way too small for me. After getting the large I assumed a medium would be even worse. I have never ridden a bike that’s...
I live in the states and can’t even find one within a reasonable distance. I can order one online, but made that mistake with the Decoy. But that does help knowing the size/height. I’m guessing I’ll need at least a large. Thanks again for the info!
That’s definitely good to hear! I was getting worried this bike was not worth the price tag. The geometry is a big factor for me. I’m a bit lost on some of Treks sizes. I’m seeing M/L on some bikes, but not the rail? I’m about 5’9-5’10, and go between medium and large. The Decoy is a great...
I’m seriously considering selling/trading in my 19’ Decoy for a Trek Rail 5, or maybe a 7 very soon. But I keep hearing about various issues with the 5. I know the brakes are garage. But issues like the pivots, cranks, headsets, and other mystery noises are making me weary about it. Also, it...
Hey how are you liking the Rail 5?? I’m seriously considering selling my 19’ Decoy for one very soon. But I wanted to put a 180mm Fox 38 Ebike fork I have in it on it and I’m confused why according to Trek it says 170mm Max. But anyway, any input would be appreciated. I can hardly find review on...
It wasn’t much better for me here in the states via FedEx. When it came they stood it straight up despite the labels and there was a hole big enough I could stick my fingers through and touch the wheels. They also shoved the bike/battery kit inside the bike instead of sending it separately.
I actually prefer mine higher. My 19’ Decoy base has the lowest stem I’ve ever had. It’s actually led me to buying a new fork. Not sure why YT does it that way. I’m actually thinking of 30mm worth of spacers when it gets installed unless that ends making it look like a chopper lol
