I recently bought a 2020 Rocky Mountain Instinct Alloy 50 and have done a few rides.
My first ride on an EMTB was a Specialized Levo Comp with Brose 90Nm motor and 700 Wh battery which we rented for the day and that convinced me to get an EMTB.
Being 196cm and 105kg I was concerned about the...
There is only one thing different between brands. The frame and it's geometry. I'm pretty sure the Bosch on a Trek is the same as the Bosch on a Cube and the Fox forks are the same Fox forks on every other EMTB running those forks. And yes Minion tyres are Minion tyres. etc etc etc
You can...
The Rocky Montain bikes jumped battery sizes up from 500 and 630Wh in their 2019 models to 670Wh for 2020 models. Now they have added an add-on battery called the The Overtimepack.

That's almost 972Wh powering a 108Nm motor. ??????
I rode roadies too and spent lots of money on saddles that didn't fit. Eventually got an infinity saddle. Took 3 rides to adapt, never looked back. Ordered one for my new emtb as well. You don't sit as much on an embt, but stock saddles don't suit me.
I prefer the E2, but the E1X is designed...
Have a look at this guy's YT channel. He has excellent videos on this sort of thing. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRebP4wYkzzYvKCC7ej4k_g
This is one of his is on jumps
There is a few manufacturers out there that do that.
Also lots of manufacturers in Europe if you look. ..Cube, Focus, Rotwild, GT, RockMachineBikes, Merida
If you ride hard and fast you don't notice it because you are breathing really hard and going "WooHoo" a lot. Plus all your friends are doing the same.
I dont ride hard, but I have a wife, so I'm used to the whining. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
I recently did some research into weight limits for e-MTBs. I compiled the table below based on published material in their websites or responses to my emails. The list is not every manufacturer, but simply the ones that I was looking at, or were available to me in Australia.
Almost all brands...
So how did you go Brendon?
Have you found a bike yet?
We just bought two bikes tonight, a Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay A50 and a Focus Jam2 6.8 NINE.
I hadn't looked at the Rocky Mountain range before but got quite interested when I saw the bike and the 672 Wh with the 108Nm motor...
I can only go on what the Trek sales person told me when I was standing there looking at his bikes. They had a Rail in there, their base model as he put it, at $8,800 AUD, priced well above the other bikes I had looked at that day. It was he who told me they had the Gen 3 Bosch, and some...
Got a response from Norco. Max weight (rider and bike) 136kg.
@Speaders, I didnt list Trek for two reasons, they were expensive compared to other manufacturers for similar spec bikes. Their models run Bosch 3rd Gen, not 4th Gen motors. Trek update their models every two years, so 2021 before...
Update 26/06/2020.... Bosch motors are receiving updated firmware raising torque from 75nm to 85nm.
Brendon, I am also Canberra based and looking at buying an EMTB. After test riding a Specialized Levo on the weekend along the Centenary trail for 40km I am looking at a bike with 29 in wheels...
