If you really want the Levo you could buy a lower spec model, spec it up and buy the bigger battery (£700 is it?, but if you bought it with a bike the dealer might give you a discount on the total package?)
I ordered my bike last Tuesday and its being delivered (UK) this Tuesday, so 7 days for an 'in stock' bike. If range is a worry, buy a second battery (which you can order from Canyon at the time you order the bike, around £500, and a dedicated backpack to carry your spare battery (Evoc do a...
I wanted to spend £4k too, and went with a Canyon. I know its a gamble buying direct, but if you look in the Newbies forum you'll see how I got to that decision (I'm new. And why I bought a 2018 Canyon Spectral:On 7.0 - EMTB Forums).
Loads of great bikes around at £4k, make sure you buy...
It arrives on Tuesday, but its a Christmas present from my wife and kids, so I won't be unboxing it until Boxing Day probably. I have a consultants appointment on the 21st December, so should know more about how tough I'm getting then. I.e. I need to know what would happen if I slid off and...
I've checked my two bikes, both have 50mm stems, so I've ordered a 50mm. My Smuggler has a 457 reach; my Canyon will have 455. Looks good to me.
In other news, I ordered it last Tuesday and its being delivered this Tuesday, so 7 days from Germany to UK. My wife plans to wrap a bow around the...
Thanks Ron. Sorry to hear of your health challenges - that really sucks and I hope it all improves for you. Yeah, I'm in the South West of the UK, so Cwmcarn and Bike Park Wales less than an hours drive, FOD a tad longer.
As I said, seems almost hard to buy a bad bike now, which is great...
I may well be doing this wrong....but the three things I look at are:
1) Head angle 65 to 67.5, with a preference towards the latter
2) Seat angle around 74/75
3) Reach around 455
The reach on the large is 465, but that's with a 60mm stem, hence the 50mm stem, and my other two bikes have 50mm...
Support your local store. Buy all your 'less than premium' cycling stuff from them, like kids bikes, tubes, nutritional stuff and build up a relationship with them. Ask them if they can price match deals you've seen; often they can get near and like to be offered the chance to supply you. Soon...
Firstly, why an e-bike? I'm 48 and I had a freak accident in June where I destroyed both hips. As at end November I'm now mainly on crutches, but on bad days, or days where a lot of 'walking' would be involved, I resort to a wheelchair. When I was riding I'd ride with various groups and took...
Thanks Gary. I’m after something black to keep with the stealth look, and your CRC link showed a Raceface respond which looked great, but it doesn’t come in a 35mm bar option. I tried Google and found a Ritchey one, but it was £90 odd I think. Interesting points re the difference between reach...
Thanks all. Tempted to get a 45mm stem - anyone know a brand that does 45mm? Can't decide between 40mm and 50mm so thought I'd split the difference! And make life a little harder for myself :-)
Thanks. As per other post, I've gone for a different lever with i-spec b compatibility as I prefer to keep things simple.
Re the DT Swiss wheels, the e-mtb range ("Hybrid") come with a 24T ratchet specifically designed to cope with the extra forces of e-mtb. Whilst this may be hype(?) I...
Perfect, thanks. I've just been back through this thread and reviewed your photo's, very useful. Off the back of that I've ordered an i-spec b wolftooth lever (light action, so the longer version the same as yours).
As an aside, I ordered the bike at 9.44pm on Tuesday evening, and at 3:15pm...
Thank you for this thread, very helpful. I have just ordered a Spectral:On 7.0. I went for last years model as I have a preference for Lyriks and DT Swiss wheels. It comes with Shimano Zees, which I believe are i-spec-B(?). I've ordered an E6000 switch, and I'd like to order a One Up dropper...
