Hi Dominic. If i understand the issue correctly it's down to the fact that the implementation of this EU law was devolved to the regional governments in UK. i.e. Welsh, Scottish and NI. The NI Assembly is non existent at the moment because they can't reach an agreement (Long story and not one...

    E-bike and car roof racks

I don't trust any waterproof claims. When I transport my Giant on the bike rack with battery off, I cover battery terminals with my omelette.[emoji6] Its a moulded plastic cover that clips over the terminals. Keeps all the traffic film and weather out. Works a treat. Pottsy

    E-bike and car roof racks

Even if I had a decent roof rack and weight wasn't a problem, I couldn't lift the ebike on to it.[emoji123] I use a tow bar mounted Buzzrack Scorpin 2. A lot easier, but u need tow bar. Ta Pottsy

Unfortunately Laka doesn't cover eBikes in Northern Ireland. Because the law says they are "moped". We are a backward lot in NI.

Folks unlike the rest of UK and indeed Ireland and Europe we sad souls in Northern Ireland can't legally ride our ebikes in public spaces. Because we never got round to changing the laws like every other country in Europe we need to register ebike with DVLA in Swansea, tax, insure, get...

E bikes as a training aid

A lot of science talk here. Keep it simple and use the tried and tested method of knowing if your burning calories. Run a tape measure round your belly and see if it's reducing over time. Works for me. I'm not burning enough. [emoji16] Pottsy
